Premiering On A New Date, Friday, Nov. 4
SHOWTIME Sports released the official trailer for the anticipated documentary film "ONE & DONE" featuring the 2016 No. 1 NBA Draft Pick Ben Simmons. The trailer provides the first detailed look at the film which examines the sprawling journey of Simmons from his Australian upbringing, to high school and college in America, to the top of the rookie class in the world's foremost basketball league. The film will premiere on Friday, Nov. 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME.
[EDITORS NOTE: Following an injury sustained by Simmons during Philadelphia 76'ers training camp, ONE & DONE will premiere on Nov. 4 at 9p ET/PT on SHOWTIME, moved from the previously announced date of Oct. 21.]
Simmons endeavors to fulfill a lifelong dream, one shared by his family, including father David Simmons, a New York City native who played 13 professional seasons in the Australian National Basketball League. The production spent nearly two full years with exclusive and intimate access to the highly touted, 20-year-old forward from Melbourne and his family. At the heart of the film is Simmons' time on the NCAA men's basketball team at Louisiana State University where he played his one and done year in order to satisfy a rule regulating eligibility for the NBA Draft.
ONE & DONE is part of an expansive lineup of unscripted documentary films from SHOWTIME Sports. Additional titles in the lineup include "KOBE BRYANT'S MUSE," "PLAY IT FORWARD" (Tony Gonzalez), "IVERSON," "THE DREW" (Baron Davis), and "DEAN SMITH."
