Santa Monica, CA ( April 13, 2011) - MTV's "Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew" (ABDC), welcomes global sensation Ke$ha as the "Superstar of the Week," airing this Thursday, April 14, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. In last week's premiere episode, five dance crews ignited the stage to the music of Lil Wayne with four crews moving on to the next round. This week, five all new dance crews will perform routines inspired by the music and fashion of the multi-platinum singer/songwriter, Ke$ha. The crews will kick-off the episode by showcasing their phenomenal talent to "We R Who We R." In addition crews will each perform to Ke$ha's hottest singles, including "Tik Tok," "Blow," "Your Love Is My Drug," "Sleazy," and "Dirty Picture."
"America's Best Dance Crew" season six premiere kicked off with a 2.1 rating among P12-34 and averaged 2.4 million total viewers. The series ranked #1 in its time period across all of television and was the #1 original cable series of the night with P12-34.
Season six of "America's Best Dance Crew" is the "Season of the Superstars" and, for the first time ever, each episode is themed to a popular celebrity artist. Ten new dance crews are taking the stage this season to create dances to master mixes of the artist of the week, incorporating all aspects of the artist's style - from wardrobe, inspiration and emotion to groundbreaking choreography and skills. Special guest appearances include Ke$ha, Black Eyed Peas, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber. Themed episodes will be inspired by the hottest names in music including Rihanna, Lil Wayne and more!
"America's Best Dance Crew" is hosted by Mario Lopez and shot on location in Los Angeles as dance crews perform their hottest moves for dance supremacy and a $100,000 cash prize. Every performance-themed episode gives insight into the crews' emotion, spirit and inspiration as they step up to the challenge and show off their groundbreaking choreography and skills. Viewers from around the country choose their favorite crews via text messaging, phone and online voting. The two crews with the least number of votes will be up for elimination with judges making the final call on which crew will be sent home. One crew will be eliminated each week, ultimately revealing the nation's best dance crew.
