DESCRIPTION:
(from IFC's press release, August 2016) After a celebrated and star-studded four-year run, IFC's surreal scripted talker COMEDY BANG! BANG! will come to an end this fall. The series' final ten episodes are set to air starting Friday, October 28, with two back-to-back episodes at 11:00PM and 11:30PM. The remaining episodes, starring series host Scott Aukerman and musical co-host "Weird Al" Yankovic, will air weekly, back-to-back on Fridays. The series finale will air December 10 (accounting for a Thanksgiving preemption). "'Comedy Bang! Bang!' has been an incredibly important show for IFC. Over five seasons and more than 100 episodes, Scott Aukerman has been a comedic force who has meant so much to us," said Jennifer Caserta, IFC president. "Comedy Bang! Bang! had a unique sensibility in the comedy space, and delivered an amazing array of A-list guest stars. Scott and his team worked with our advertising partners in ways that were as buzzy as the jokes. We are proud to celebrate 'Comedy Bang! Bang!' across this final 10-episode send-off and appreciate everything it has meant to IFC." Guest stars coming to the couch for the series' final episodes include: Malin Akerman (Billions, Childrens Hospital), Mike Colter (Jessica Jones, The Good Wife), Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory, The Wedding Ringer), singer-songwriter Ben Folds, Gillian Jacobs (Love, Community), Allison Janney (Mom, Masters of Sex), Jason Mantzoukas (The League, Dirty Grandpa), Haley Joel Osment (The Spoils Before Dying, Entourage), Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Adam Scott (Parks & Recreation), Paul F. Tompkins (BoJack Horseman, Bajillion Dollar Properie$), Matt Walsh (Veep), and the return of former co-host Reggie Watts (The Late Late Show with James Corden).
