ABC News' '20/20' Leads NBC's 'Dateline' in All Key Target Demos and Posts Its Largest Lead Over 'Dateline' in Overall Viewers and in the Key Adult Demo in A Year
"20/20" was America's most-watched program across broadcast and cable on Friday, Nov. 3, 2023. "20/20" also stood as Friday's No. 1 newsmagazine and led NBC's "Dateline" in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+1.552 million - 3.843 million vs. 2.291 million) Adults 18-49 (+37,000 - 404,000 vs. 367,000) and Adults 25-54 (+202,000 - 690,000 vs. 488,000), based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. In fact, "20/20" posted its largest lead over the NBC program in overall viewers and in the key Adult news demo in 1 year - 10/28/22.
"20/20" co-anchor David Muir had the exclusive interview with missing Baby Holly Marie, now a 42-year-old woman, in a report on the stunning breakthrough in the cold case of a murdered couple that led investigators on a multistate search for their missing baby 40 years later.
"20/20" grew from the previous week (10/27/23) by double-digits in Total Viewers (+30% - 3.843 million vs. 2.960 million) and Adults 25-54 (+12% - 690,000 vs. 615,000), delivering season-highs in both measures. The ABC newsmagazine turned in its strongest telecast in 10 months in Total Viewers and its strongest performance in Adults 25-54 in 8 months - since 1/27/23 and 3/3/23, respectively.
"20/20" also improved on its year-ago telecast (10/28/22) in Total Viewers (+11% - 3.843 million vs. 3.451 million) and Adults 25-54 (+1% - 690,000 vs. 680,000).
