The ABC News Special Report "Presidential Address to the Nation," anchored by David Muir, ranked No. 1 across all broadcast and cable television in Total Viewers (4.650 million). The special covering President Biden's primetime address on the Israel-Hamas and Russia-Ukraine wars was also No. 1 among all broadcast and cable news networks in Total Viewers (4.650 million), Adults 25-54 (844,000) and Adults 18-49 (588,000) on Oct. 19, 2023, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research.
The special featured Chief White House correspondent Mary Bruce joining from The White House and chief global affairs correspondent Martha Raddatz from Israel.
ABC (8:00-8:21 p.m.) led the special reports on NBC (8:00-8:18 p.m. - 3.567 million, 599,000 and 434,000, respectively), CBS (8:00-8:21 p.m. - 3.459 million, 737,000 and 537,000, respectively) and Fox (8:00-8:17 p.m. - 1.453 million, 414,000 and 330,000, respectively).
In addition, ABC beat the special coverage on CNN (8:00-8:30 p.m. - 1.478 million, 352,000 and 242,000, respectively), FNC (8:00-8:17 p.m. - 3.376 million, 459,000 and 285,000, respectively) and MSNBC (8:00-8:30 p.m. - 2.125 million, 243,000 and 157,000, respectively).
