'Idol' Improves Year Over Year by Double Digits for 2nd Week in a Row
'American Idol' Scores Its Strongest Multiplatform Telecast in 1 Year
"American Idol" Sunday (8:00-10:00 p.m. - 7.9 million Total Viewers and 1.2/13 in AD18-49 in L+7):
The penultimate episode of ABC's "American Idol" delivered new season highs in both Total Viewers (7.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.2/13). In fact, the ABC unscripted series scored its strongest telecast in 1 year in both Nielsen measures - since 5/1/22. "American Idol" built for the 3rd straight week in Total Viewers (+3% - 7.9 million vs. 7.7 million) and also grew week to week by 9% among Adults 18-49 (1.2/13 vs. 1.1/10).
"American Idol" improved over last year's penultimate episode (on 5/15/22) by 13% in Total Viewers (7.9 million vs. 7.0 million) and by 20% with Adults 18-49 (1.2/13 vs. 1.0/8). In fact, "American Idol" grew by double digits year over year for the 2nd week in a row in both Nielsen measures.
ABC's "American Idol" ranked as Sunday's No. 1 program in both Total Viewers (7.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.2/13).
After seven days of viewing across linear and streaming platforms, the penultimate episode of "American Idol" shot up to nearly 9 million Total Viewers (8.8 million) and hit a 1.61 rating in Adults 18-49 to post its strongest multiplatform telecast in 1 year - since 5/1/22.
ABC's "American Idol" is the year's No. 1 most social entertainment series in primetime on broadcast or cable with nearly 25 million total social interactions (24.7 million).
