Monday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Surges to Top Spot with NFL Special

Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (10/5/20):

[Note: Fast affiliate ratings are inaccurate for live sports. ABC results are impacted by local preemptions for NFL football in the Atlanta and Milwaukee markets.]

CBS (9.424 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.6, #1) got a big boost on Monday with its primetime portion of "NFL Football: New England at Kansas City" (12.656 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.6, #1) followed by the Monday premiere of "Big Brother 22" (2.960 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3).

ABC (5.167 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #2) was a distant second with fresh installments from "Dancing with the Stars" (6.006 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #2) and "Emergency Call" (3.490 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4).

Next up was NBC (2.685 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.4, #3) with its special "Decision 2020: Biden Town Hall" (3.799 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5) followed by "American Ninja Warrior" (2.128 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.4, #6).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.646 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.3, #4) served up new episodes of "LA's Finest" (1.650 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T7) and "Filthy Rich" (1.642 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T7).

And finally, The CW (0.775 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the night with "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (0.845 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T9), a repeat "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (0.748 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.1, #11) and "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" (0.752 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T9).
