Friday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Tops Demos; CBS Wins Total Viewers

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (8/16/19):

NBC (3.054 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #1) was the demo champ on a repeat heavy Friday with its duo of "American Ninja Warrior" (3.025 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #1) and "Dateline NBC" (3.111 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T2).

CBS (3.424 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T2) then was the most-watched network with its trio of "Hawaii Five-0" (3.265 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T8), "Magnum P.I." (3.252 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T8) and "Blue Bloods" (3.755 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T4).

Next up was ABC (2.594 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T2) and its mix of "American Housewife" (2.542 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T4), "Fresh Off the Boat" (1.999 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T8), "What Would You Do?" (2.774 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T2) and "20/20" (2.737 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T4).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.362 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.3, #4) served up encores of "BH90210" (1.426 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T4) and "MasterChef" (1.297 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T8).

And finally, repeats of "Masters of Illusion" (1.316 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T8), "The Big Stage" (1.198 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T13) and "Hypnotize Me" (1.104 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T13) rounded out the night on The CW (1.180 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5).

NBC (3.252 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T1) was the most-watched network on Friday despite its repeat duo of "American Ninja Warrior" (3.172 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2) and "Dateline NBC" (3.412 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2).

Second place then went to ABC (3.087 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T1) with its special "WE Day" (2.813 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T7) followed by a new "What Would You Do?" (3.106 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2) and a repeat "20/20" (3.341 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2).

Next up was CBS (2.985 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T1) with originals from "TKO: Total Knock Out" (3.400 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.7, #1), "Whistleblower" (2.998 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T2) and another "Whistleblower" (2.557 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T7).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.472 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #4) offered up its coverage of "BIG3" (1.472 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T9).

And finally, a new "Masters of Illusion" (1.596 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T9) along with repeats of "Masters of Illusion" (1.516 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T11) and "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" (1.537 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T11) rounded out the night on The CW (1.547 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.5/3; "Late Show," 0.3/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.3/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.0/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.0/3 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/2 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/2 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
