Monday's Broadcast Ratings: "The Voice" Helps NBC Hold Off ABC

Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (12/3/18):

NBC (7.787 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #1) was still the network to beat on Monday with a new "The Voice" (8.966 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #1) and the special "Deal or No Deal: Happy Howie Days" (5.431 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #6).

ABC (5.995 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then was a close second with originals from "The Great Christmas Light Fight" (5.631 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3), another "The Great Christmas Light Fight" (5.143 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3) and "The Good Doctor" (7.213 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2).

Next up was CBS (5.653 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) with new episodes of "The Neighborhood" (6.492 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3) and "Happy Together" (4.556 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7) followed by a repeat "The Big Bang Theory" (4.859 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7), another "The Big Bang Theory" (4.971 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7) and a new "Bull" (6.521 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #10).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.384 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) opted for repeats of "The Resident" (2.265 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11) and "9-1-1" (2.502 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11).

And finally, new episodes of "Arrow" (1.356 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #13) and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" (0.929 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.3, #14) rounded out the night on The CW (1.143 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.5/3; "Late Show," 0.4/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/4.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/5 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.1/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/2 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.1/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (12/4/17):

NBC (8.278 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) held onto the top spot on Monday with a new "The Voice" (10.044 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1) followed by a special holiday edition of "The Wall" (4.746 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #7).

ABC (6.874 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) then was the silver draw with the return of "The Great Christmas Light Fight" (5.610 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5), a second "The Great Christmas Light Fight" (5.606 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3) and the fall finale of "The Good Doctor" (9.408 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2).

Next up was CBS (5.259 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) with a repeat "The Big Bang Theory" (7.681 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3) followed by originals from "Man with a Plan" (6.316 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5), "Superior Donuts" (5.499 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T8) and "9JKL" (4.650 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T10) plus a repeat "S.W.A.T."
