Friday's Broadcast Ratings: NCAA Scores Another Victory for CBS

Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (3/16/18):

CBS (4.369 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #1) was the network to beat on Friday with night two of its "NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament" (4.913 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #1) coverage followed by "NCAA Men's Basketball Championship Update" (3.795 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) and more "NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament" (3.839 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #2).

FOX (3.009 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #2) then was the silver draw thanks to a new "MasterChef Junior" (3.394 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.9, #4) and a repeat "9-1-1" (2.625 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5).

Next up was NBC (3.480 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #3) and its trio of "Blindspot" (3.385 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5), "Taken" (3.213 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T9) and "Dateline NBC" (3.841 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.722 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) offered up originals from "Once Upon a Time" (2.545 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T9), "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (2.137 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T9) and "20/20" (3.483 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T5).

And finally, The CW (0.651 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the evening with fresh installments from "Dynasty" (0.683 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.1, #13) and "Jane the Virgin" (0.619 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.2, #12).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.5/3; "Late Show," 0.3/2, with an encore delayed by NCAA basketball; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.9/3 with an encore delayed by NCAA basketball. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2 with an encore delayed by NCAA basketball.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

ABC (5.457 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) then was the most-watched network with new episodes from "Last Man Standing" (6.198 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #5) and "Dr. Ken" (4.642 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6) plus the documentary "Truth and Lies: The Family Mason" (5.476 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4).

Next up was NBC (4.565 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) with originals from "Grimm" (3.920 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6) and "Dateline NBC" (4.888 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.922 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.4, #4) offered up a repeat "Rosewood" (1.964 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T9) and a new "Sleepy Hollow" (1.881 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T9).

And finally, the return of "The Originals" (1.057 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.3, #11) and a new "Reign" (0.786 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #12) closed out the night on The CW (0.921 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5).
