Third Straight Year Network Eclipsed Ratings Record In Adults 25-54
(New York) - Science Channel enjoyed its highest rated year ever in 2017 in Primetime among Adults/Men/Women 25-54 and in Total Viewers P2+. For the third consecutive year the network had its best performance with Adults 25-54 in Primetime.
Science Channel finished the year strong with its highest rated 4th Quarter ever and best December ever. In Primetime, 2017 marked the highest rated December in network history among Adults/Men/Women 25-54, and P2+, with a +12% increase vs. 2016 in Adults 25-54. In Total Day, 2017 was its highest rated December among Adults 25-54 and Men 25-54.
In Primetime, Science Channel earned its highest rated 4th Quarter ever among Adults/Men/Women 25-54, Adults/Men18-49 and P2+ with an increase of +18% with Adults 25-54. In Total Day, 4th Quarter was the highest rated in Science Channel history among Adults/Men/Women 25-54 and P2+.
Among the programming highlights for 2017 was the network's live coverage of the GREAT AMERICAN ECLIPSE from 12-2 p.m. ET on August 21, which averaged 1.0 million P2+ viewers, making it the most watched telecast ever for Science Channel; MYTHBUSTERS: THE SEARCH was the network's highest rated series of 2017 and its highest rated freshman series since 2011 (Idiot Abroad) among Adults 25-54.
