ABC's "The Good Doctor" Scores TV's Biggest Live + 3 Debut Lift in 3 Years and 2nd-Best Ever in Viewers

L+3 Monday Ratings: ABC's The Good Doctor Scores TV's Biggest L+3 Debut Lift in 3 Years and 2nd-Best Ever in Viewers

Live + 3 Day Data for Monday, 9/25/17

At 10pm, the series debut of ABC's The Good Doctor delivered the biggest L+3 increase in Total Viewers (+5.5 million) for any new series debut on any network in 3 years - since the launch of ABC's How To Get Away with Murder (+5.9 million on 9/25/14). In fact, The Good Doctor's +5.5 million viewer lift was TV's 2nd-largest-ever for a debut telecast, behind only ABC's HTGAWM.

The Good Doctor far outpaced the L+3 gains for the debut telecasts of NBC's This is Us (+3.5 million) and ABC's Designated Survivor (+5.3 million) last season and Fox's Empire two years ago (+3.2 million).

Soaring by +1.5 rating points among Adults 18-49 in the 3 days after its premiere, The Good Doctor tied the L+3 debut lifts of ABC's Designated Survivor and Fox's Empire as the biggest for any new broadcast series debut in 3 years since ABC's HTGAWM.

With increases of +5.5 million viewers and +1.5 rating points in Adults 18-49, The Good Doctor was Monday's #1 gainer in L+3 playback, topping the gains of CBS' Young Sheldon debut (+4.3 million and +1.4 rating points) and The Big Bang Theory premiere (+4.4 million and +1.4 rating points).

After 3 days of TV playback, ABC's new drama grew to 16.9 million Total Viewers (from 11.4 million in L+SD) and a 3.7 rating with Adults 18-49 (from a 2.2 in L+SD).

Please Note: Beyond the L+3 ratings, The Good Doctor added an additional +0.59 rating points in Multiplatform + 3 Day viewing, bringing its 3-day MP average to a 4.31 Adult 18-49 rating.
