Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Pulls Back in Front Among Adults 18-49

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/6/17):

CBS (6.878 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #1) edged out the top spot on Thursday with originals from "The Big Bang Theory" (12.330 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.6, #1), "The Great Indoors" (7.141 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T3), "Mom" (7.559 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T3), "Life in Pieces" (5.642 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #6) and "The Amazing Race" (4.299 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T8).

ABC (5.467 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) then was a tight second with fresh installments of "Grey's Anatomy" (7.200 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2), "Scandal" (5.529 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.3, #5) and "The Catch" (3.671 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #11).

Next up was NBC (4.042 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T3) and its mix of "Superstore" (3.094 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.8, #10), "Powerless" (2.089 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12), "Chicago Med" (5.811 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #7) and "The Blacklist: Redemption" (3.723 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.617 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T3) offered up new episodes of "MasterChef Junior" (3.224 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T8) and "Kicking & Screaming" (2.011 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12).

And finally, The CW (1.247 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) rounded out the night with "Supernatural" (1.584 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.5, #15) and "Riverdale" (0.911 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.3, #16).

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 0.9/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.9/3, with an encore delayed by Masters golf coverage. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.2/2 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2, with an encore delayed by Masters golf coverage.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.5/2 in metered-market households and a 0.1/1 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (4/7/16):

FOX (12.937 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.0, #1) was the top draw on Thursday with a new "American Idol" (11.738 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.6, #3) followed by the series finale of "American Idol" (14.137 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.3, #1).

CBS (7.316 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T2) then was the number two network with its mix of "The Big Bang Theory" (13.240 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.0, #2), the season premiere of "The Odd Couple" (7.816 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.6, #6), "Mom" (7.296 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.5, #7), "2 Broke Girls" (5.889 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.4, #8) and "Rush Hour" (4.827 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.9, #11).
