NBC ranks #1 Friday night among the Big 4 networks in every key measure. Note that the NBC station in San Francisco carried Major League Baseball.
A two-hour special "Dateline NBC" special, "Who Killed JonBenét?" (1.2/5 in 18-49, 1.8 in adults 25-54, 6.5 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET):
· Is currently delivering the most-watched Friday "Dateline" in nearly a year and a half (since March 20, 2015, 6.8 million viewers), pending updates.
· Is reporting "Dateline's" highest Friday 18-49 and 25-54 ratings since Feb. 26 (1.2 in 18-49, 1.8 in 25-54) and is matching "Dateline's" Friday highs since Jan. 29 in 18-49 (1.4) and March 6, 2015 in 25-54 (1.9).
· Is the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in every key measure - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.
· Grows +50% from its first half-hour to its fourth in adults 18-49 (1.0 to 1.5), +57% in adults 25-54 (1.4 to 2.2) and 2.3 million persons or +44% in total viewers (5.2 million to 7.5 million).
· Wins the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in every key measure.
· Will add substantial viewership via time-shifting - the previous Friday's "Dateline NBC" encore delivered the biggest L+3 lifts of the night on the Big 4 networks, growing by +16% in 18-49 rating (from a 0.76 to a 0.88) and 527,000 viewers overall (3.8 million to 4.4 million) going from L+SD to L+3.
The 8-9 p.m. ET special "Stand Up to Cancer" ran as sustaining programming and will not be included in nightly or weekly averages.
In Late-Night Metered Markets Friday Night:
In 18-49 in the local people meters:
· Jimmy Fallon (0.9) tops Kimmel (0.5) and "Colbert" (0.3) combined.
· Seth Meyers (0.5) ties Kimmel and beats Colbert, despite starting an hour later.
· Carson Daly (0.3) ties Colbert, despite starting two hours later, and beats a Corden encore (0.2), despite starting one hour later.
· Jimmy Fallon's Friday guests included James Spader, Mandy Moore and musical guest Jack White.
· On "Late Night," Seth Meyers and First Lady Michelle Obama visited Howard University, with guests Taran Killam & Bobby Moynihan and Corbin Maxey.
· Carson Daly's Friday guests included Nicole Byer, Elizabeth Wood and musical guest Guided by Voices.
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.9/7; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 1.5/4; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.9/5.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/5; "Late Show," 0.3/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.5/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.9/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2 with an encore).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 with an encore in the 25 markets with local people meters.
