NBC WINS FRIDAY AS 8 P.M. AND 9 P.M. U.S. OLYMPIC TRIALS TELECASTS TIE AS THE #1 SHOW OF THE NIGHT AMONG THE BIG 4 IN 18-49
Friday Primetime Results:
NBC wins Friday among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and every other key demographic (including a tie in women 18-34).
"U.S. Olympic Trials: Swimming" (1.0/5 in 18-49, 4.6 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET):
· Ties as the #1 telecast of the night on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 with the 9 p.m. Track & Field coverage.
· Wins the time period among those nets in every key measure (including ties in adults 18-34 and men 18-34).
· Grows from half-hour to half-hour in every key measure, including a gain of +22% in adults 18-49 (0.9 to 1.1).
"U.S. Olympic Trials: Track & Field" (1.0/5 in 18-49, 4.7 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET):
· Ties as the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 in adults 18-49 with the 8 p.m. Swimming coverage
· Wins the time period among those networks in all key categories.
An encore telecast of "Dateline NBC" (0.8/4 in 18-49, 1.1 in adults 25-54, 3.9 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET):
· Grows +14% versus the prior Friday "Dateline" in 18-49 (0.8 vs. 0.7 on June 17) and +10% in adults 25-54 (1.1 vs. 1.0).
· Ranks #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in most key measures and tied for #1 among those nets in men 18-49 and men 18-34.
· Will add substantial viewership via time-shifting - Friday's "Dateline NBC" has grown by +33% this season in 18-49 rating (from a 1.01 to a 1.34) and 1.1 million viewers overall (4.8 million to 5.9 million) going from L+SD to L+7.
· Upscale: "Dateline" delivers a solid upscale audience, indexing at a 110 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes.
In Late-Night Metered Markets Friday Night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.2/6 with an encore telecast; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 1.8/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.5/4 with an encore.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.3/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5.3 with an encore.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline," averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.1/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.9/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
