DESPITE NBA COMPETITION, "DATELINE" DELIVERS ITS TOP FRIDAY TOTAL-VIEWER AND 25-54 NIELSENS SINCE FEBURARY
Friday Primetime Results:
NBC scores as Friday night's highest-rated Big 4 non-sports alternative to ABC's NBA coverage in all key ratings measures (including a tie in men 18-34).
"Dateline NBC" (1.0/4 in 18-49, 5.5 in adults 25-54, 5.5 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET):
· Is the #1 non-NBA show of the night on the Big 4 networks in 18-49 and most other key demos.
· Facing ABC's coverage of the NBA Finals, finishes within 0.1 of a point of last week's telecast in adults 18-49 (1.0 vs. 1.1, which was the show's highest Friday rating since Feb. 26).
· Despite the NBA competition, reports "Dateline's" highest Friday figures in adults 25-54 (1.6) and total viewers since Feb. 26 (1.8 in 25-54, 5.7 million viewers overall).
· Grows +12% week to week in total viewers (5.491 million vs. 4.911 million) and +7% in adults 25-54 (1.6 vs. 1.5).
· Will add substantial viewership via time-shifting - the prior Friday's "Dateline" increased by +27% in 18-49 (1.08 to 1.37) and +1.1 million persons in total viewers (4.9 million to 6.0 million) going from L+SD to L+3, for the biggest 18-49 and total-viewer lifts of the night on the Big 4 nets.
· Upscale: "Dateline" delivers a solid upscale audience, indexing at a 110 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes.
An encore telecast of "America's Got Talent" (0.9/4 in 18-49, 4.7 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET):
· Ranks #2 for the night among non-NBA telecasts on the Big 4 in 18-49.
· Ranks #1 in the time period among non-NBA telecasts on the Big 4 in every key measure (including a tie in men 18-34).
· Despite last night's NBA competition, retains 100% week to week in 18-49 (0.9 vs. 0.9 for last week's encore in this slot) and grows +3% in total viewers (4.702 million vs. 4.563 million).
· Grow +25% versus NBC's 18-49 average in the time period last summer (1.0 vs. 0.8, L+SD non-sports).
In Late-Night Metered Markets Friday Night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.7/7 with an encore telecast; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 1.7/4 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 3.7/10, delayed by a high-rated NBA overrun.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.8/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.3/1 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.9/10, delayed by an NBA overrun.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline," delayed by an NBA overrun, averaged a 2.0/7 in metered-market households and a 1.0/7 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.3/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.9/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
