Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: "America's Got Talent" Returns on Top for NBC

Here are the highlights of the 12 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (5/31/16):

NBC (9.822 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #1) was of course the network to beat on Tuesday with the return of "America's Got Talent" (11.547 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.5, #1) and the premiere of "Maya & Marty" (6.373 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2).

CBS (6.987 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #2) then was the number two draw with its mix of "NCIS" (7.404 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5), "NCIS: New Orleans" (6.956 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T3) and a new "Person of Interest" (6.601 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T3).

Next up was ABC (3.571 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) with another two-hour "500 Questions" (4.207 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5) followed by a repeat "Fresh Off the Boat" (2.364 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T8) and a second "Fresh Off the Boat" (2.232 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T8).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.933 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up originals from "Hotel Hell" (2.408 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #7) and "Coupled" (1.458 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #10).

And finally, a repeat "The Flash" (1.107 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T11) and a new "Containment" (1.114 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T11) on The CW (1.110 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/5 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.3/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.8/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.1/1 with an encore).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

NBC (8.963 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1) was the network to beat on Tuesday with week two of "America's Got Talent" (10.698 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1) and "I Can Do That!" (5.491 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2).

CBS (7.579 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T2) then claimed the silver with its repeat lineup of "NCIS" (8.638 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T4), "NCIS: New Orleans" (7.916 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T4) and "48 Hours" (6.184 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T4).

Next up was FOX (3.093 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T2) with fresh installments from "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" (2.902 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #10) and "Hell's Kitchen" (3.284 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.559 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #4) served up repeats of "Fresh Off the Boat" (3.195 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7) and "Black-ish" (2.570 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7) plus a new "Extreme Weight Loss" (2.398 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7).

And finally, a repeat "The Flash" (1.488 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #12) and a new "iZombie" (1.746 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #11) closed out the evening for The CW (1.617 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the former posted a 0.4 rating while the latter delivered a 0.7 rating.
