"ADELE" ENCORE HITS A 12-MONTH SLOT HIGH FOR NBC IN TOTAL VIEWERS, "DATELINE" REPORTS ITS MOST-WATCHED FRIDAY TELECAST IN SIX WEEKS
Friday Primetime Results:
An encore telecast of "Adele Live in New York City" (0.7/3 in 18-49, 4.4 million viewers overall from 8-9:30 p.m. ET):
· Generates NBC's biggest overall audience in the slot in nearly a year, since May 15, 2016 (4.9 million).
· Ranks #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in total viewers and ties for #2 among those nets in adults 25-54.
"Dateline NBC" (0.9/4 in 18-49, 4.7 million viewers overall from 9:30-11 p.m. ET):
· Reports the show's most-watched Friday telecast in six weeks, since March 25 (5.0 million).
· Grows +10% week to week in total viewers (4.663 million for this week's 9:30-10 p.m. telecast vs. 4.244 million for last week's 10-11 p.m. edition).
· From its first half-hour to its third, grows +25% in adult 18-49 rating (0.8 to 1.0), +17% in adults 25-54 (1.2 to 1.4) and +19% in total viewers (4.2 million to 5.0 million).
· For its final two half-hours from 10-11 p.m., ties for #2 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 (within 0.1 of #1 among those nets) and adults 25-54 and ties for #1 in adults, men and women 18-34.
· Will add substantial viewership via time-shifting -- The prior week's "Dateline" increased by +40% in 18-49 going from L+SD to L+3 (0.95 to 1.33) and 1.3 million persons in total viewers (4.2 million to 5.5 million).
· Upscale: "Dateline" delivers a solid upscale audience, indexing at a 110 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes.
In Late-Night Metered Markets Friday Night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.8/7; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 2.0/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.7/4 with an encore.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/4; "Late Show," 0.3/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3 with an encore.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.4/5 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.0/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
