Friday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Tops Viewers, Shares Demo Crown with ABC

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/8/16):

CBS (8.062 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T1) was the most-watched network on Friday with its mainstays "The Amazing Race" (5.595 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3), "Hawaii Five-0" (8.471 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3) and "Blue Bloods" (10.121 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T1).

Sharing the demo crown was ABC (5.293 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T1) with originals from "Last Man Standing" (6.360 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T6), "Dr. Ken" (4.706 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T8), "Shark Tank" (5.342 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T1) and "20/20" (5.005 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3).

Next up was NBC (4.060 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) with a repeat "Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon" (3.232 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T11) alongside new episodes of "Grimm" (4.494 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T6) and "Dateline NBC" (4.455 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T8).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.812 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up the season finale of "Sleepy Hollow" (2.913 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T11) and a new "Hell's Kitchen" (2.711 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.8, #10).

And finally, fresh installments of "The Vampire Diaries" (1.170 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T13) and "The Originals" (1.138 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T13) on The CW (1.154 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.0/5; "Late Show," 0.3/1 with an encore delayed by Masters golf coverage; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.4/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.9/3 with an encore delayed by Masters golf coverage). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore delayed by Masters golf coverage).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (4/10/15):

ABC (6.095 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #1) was the top draw on Friday with its mix of "Last Man Standing" (6.352 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3), "Cristela" (5.154 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #9), "Shark Tank" (6.559 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #1) and "20/20" (5.975 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2).

CBS (8.205 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2) then was the most-watched network with its trio of "The Amazing Race" (5.846 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5), "Hawaii Five-0" (8.637 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5) and "Blue Bloods" (10.133 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3).

Next up was NBC (5.116 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2) with originals from "Grimm" (4.797 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5) and "Dateline NBC" (5.275 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.905 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) offered up the feature "Date Night" (1.905 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #10).

And finally, second runs of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.620 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11), another "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.685 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11) and "Jane the Virgin" (1.068 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #13) on The CW (1.360 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), said trio posted a 0.4, 0.5 and 0.4 rating, respectively.
