Monday's Broadcast Ratings: Grammys Come Up Big for CBS

Here are the highlights of the 10 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (2/15/16):

CBS (23.732 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 7.4, #1) was of course the network to beat on Monday with its presentation of "The 58th Annual Grammy Awards" (23.732 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 7.4, #1).

FOX (6.111 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2) then was a distant second place with originals from "The X-Files" (7.069 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.1, #3) and "Lucifer" (5.153 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.6, #4).

Next up was ABC (6.460 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #3) with new episodes of "The Bachelor" (7.147 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.2, #2) and "Castle" (5.087 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #6).

Meanwhile, NBC (2.932 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #4) offered up the penultimate weeks of "Superstore" (3.874 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #5), "Telenovela" (2.331 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #8) and "The Biggest Loser" (2.847 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #7).

And finally, the special "Mortal Kombat X: Machinima's Chasing the Cup" (0.773 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.3, #9) and a repeat "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" (0.642 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.2, #10) on The CW (0.707 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.0/5; "Late Show," 0.7/5 (delayed by Grammys overrun); and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.1/4 in metered-market households) trailed CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.5/6, delayed by Grammys overrun). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.4/4, delayed by Grammys overrun).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (2/16/15):

ABC (8.729 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #1) was the network to beat on Monday with new episodes of "The Bachelor" (8.878 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.5, #1) and "Castle" (8.431 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T5).

FOX (5.303 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2) then claimed the silver with originals from "Gotham" (6.156 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.1, #4) and "Sleepy Hollow" (4.452 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T7).

Next up was CBS (7.965 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #3) and fresh installments of "2 Broke Girls" (8.641 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.2, #T2) and "Mike & Molly" (9.173 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #T2) plus "Stevie Wonder: Songs in the Key of Life - An All-Star Grammy Salute" (7.494 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T7).

Meanwhile, NBC (5.485 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4) served up the season finales of "The Celebrity Apprentice" (5.989 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T5) and "State of Affairs" (4.476 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #9).

And finally, new episodes of "The Originals" (1.403 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T10) and "Jane the Virgin" (1.334 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T10) closed out the evening on The CW (1.368 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the former delivered a 0.7 rating while the latter posted a 1.0 rating.
