"SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE" EARNS ITS TOP RATING FOR AN ENCORE IN NEARLY A YEAR
IN TOTAL VIEWERS, NBC WINS SATURDAY PRIMETIME AMONG THE BIG 4, WITH "DATELINE MYSTERY" THE MOST-WATCHED PRIME SHOW OF THE NIGHT AMONG THOSE NETS
"DATELINE MYSTERY" MATCHES ITS SEASON HIGH IN 18-49
In Late-Night Metered-Market Household Averages for Saturday night:
· An encore telecast of "Saturday Night Live," with host Elizabeth Banks and musical guest Exposure (3.2/8 in metered-market households, 1.2/6 in adults 18-49 in the local people meters) delivered the best rating for an "SNL" rebroadcast in nearly a year in metered-market households.
· The 3.2 was the highest household rating for an encore "Saturday Night Live" since Feb. 14 , 2015 (3.8/10 with host George Carlin and musical guests Janis Ian and Billy Preston, a rebroadcast of the "SNL" series premiere from Oct. 11, 1975).
· In 18-49 in the local people meters, "Saturday Night Live" equaled the show's highest rating for a rebroadcast since May 30, 2015 (1.3/6 with host Cameron Diaz and musical guests Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars.
· The "SNL" encore is the #1 non-sports telecast of the night on the Big 4 networks in metered-market households and adults 18-49 in the local people meters, topping every primetime entertainment show on those networks in both measures.
· Note that "SNL" adds significant viewership via time-shifting, with originals growing by +52% going from L+SD to L+7 in adults 18-49 (1.84 to 2.79) and +2.252 million persons in total viewers (6.236 million to 8.488 million).
Saturday Primetime Ratings:
NBC wins Saturday primetime among the Big 4 in total viewers, with "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" the most-watched prime telecast on those networks.
· "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET):
· Equals its season high in 18-49, previously achieved on Jan. 2.
· Is the #1 primetime show of the night on the Big 4 networks in total viewers.
· Grows versus its prior telecast by +29% in 18-49 (0.9 vs. 0.7 on Jan. 9) and +12% in total viewers (4.750 million vs. 4.547 million).
· Grows from its first half-hour to its fourth by +43% in adults 18-49 (from a 0.7 rating to a 1.0), +50% in adults 25-54 (1.0 to 1.5) and +38% or 1.5 million persons in total viewers (4.0 million to 5.5 million).
· "SNL Vintage" (0.8/3 in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET, with an encore of the Nov. 1, 2008 telecast of "Saturday Night Live" hosted by Ben Affleck with musical guest David Cook):
· Equals the high "SNL" rebroadcast in this slot since Oct. 3 (0.9).
· Ties for #2 in the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49.
