Tuesday Primetime Results:
NBC won the night among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and all other key demographics (including a tie in men 18-34), with "Chicago Fire" and "Chicago Med" delivering the #1-2 ratings of the night in adults 18-49.
"Chicago Fire" (1.8/6 in 18-49, 8.4 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET):
· Is the #1 show of the night in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key measures.
· Dominates the 10-11 p.m. ET hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in every key measure.
· Beats the ABC-CBS competition combined in adults 18-49 (1.8 vs. a combined 1.5 for CBS's "Limitless" encore [0.8] and ABC's season premiere of "What Would You Do" [0.7]).
· Is up +13% versus its average last season when airing without a "Voice" lead-in in 18-49 (1.8 vs. 1.6).
· Delivers its 19th consecutive time-period win in 18-49 versus regular ABC-CBS competition in the 10-11 p.m. slot when in original, dating back to February 2015.
· Will add substantial audience via time-shifting and VOD -- "Chicago Fire" has grown by +61% in 18-49 rating (from a 1.86 to a 2,99) and 3.6 million viewers overall (8.0 million to 11.6 million) going from L+SD to L+7..
"Chicago Med" (1.6/5 in 18-49, 7.5 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET):
· Is close to rounding to a 1.7 (currently reporting a 1.646 in these prelim fast-affiliate ratings).
· Wins the slot among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and all other key demos.
· Doubles NBC's January average in the slot last year (1.6 vs. 0.8 for comedies) and triples the January 2015 average in total viewers (7.531 million vs. 2.463 million).
· Builds +33% on its lead-in in 18-49 and +67% in total viewers.
· Is the #2 show of the night in adults 18-49, behind only NBC's "Chicago Fire."
· Will add substantial audience via time-shifting and VOD -- "Chicago Med" has increased by +40% in 18-49 rating (from a 2.00 to a 2.80) and 2.7 million viewers overall (8.8 million to 11.5 million) going from L+SD to L+7.
"Hollywood Game Night" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET):
· Maintains 100% of last week's 1.2 in these prelim fast-affiliate ratings, and 92% of last week's season-high 1.3 in official nationals.
· Ranks #2 or tied for #2 in the time period among the Big 4 in every key measure.
· In total viewers, retains 97% of last week's season-high 4.637 million in official nationals.
In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday Night:
· In adult 18-49 rating in the local people meters, Fallon (1.0) topped the combined results of CBS's "Late Show with Stephen Colbert" (0.4) and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (0.5).
· In 18-49 in the local people meters, Meyers (0.5) beat Colbert (0.4) and tied Kimmel (0.5), despite Meyers' later start time.
· Fallon's guests Tuesday night included Josh Brolin, Kate McKinnon and musical guest Billy Ocean.
· Meyers' guests Tuesday included Kate Hudson, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Brian Koppelman.
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.9/8; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 1.9/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.7/4.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.0/5; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.0/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2 with an encore).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
