ABC Wins Friday with Shark Tank at Season Highs
ABC Friday Prime (8-11pm - 6.9 million and 1.4/5 in AD18-49): ABC won Friday in Adults 18-49 with a 27% advantage over its nearest competition (1.4/5 vs. 1.1/4 for CBS). It was ABC's 9th Friday in a row this season to win the evening or finish as the non-sports leader in the key young adult sales demo.
· ABC's Shark Tank equaled a season high and ranked as Friday's #1 TV show in Adults 18-49 (1.7/6), standing as the night's top entertainment series for the 9th week in a row. 20/20 was night's dominant #1 newsmagazine over NBC's Dateline in Total Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54. Last Man Standing and Dr. Ken tied as the night's #1 scripted telecasts in Adults 18-49.
Last Man Standing (8-8:30pm - 7.2 million and 1.2/5 in AD18-49): At 8pm, Last Man Standing won its half-hour in viewers (7.2 million) and young adults (1.2/5). Coming off the prior week's season high, LMS turned around and drew its 2nd-biggest audience this season.
Dr. Ken (8:30-9pm - 6.1 million and 1.2/5 in AD18-49): Holding 100% of its lead-in at 8:30pm, ABC's Dr. Ken ranked #1 in its half-hour among Adults 18-49 (1.2/5), beating runner-up Fox's MasterChef Junior by 9% (1.1/4) and more than doubling its NBC comedy competition in the half hour (Truth Be Told = 0.6/2). Dr. Ken surged 15% in viewers week to week (6.1 million vs. 5.3 million) to earn its most-watched telecast since its series debut 7 weeks ago - since 10/2/15.
Shark Tank (9-10pm - 6.9 million and 1.7/6 in AD18-49): Building from its lead-in at 9pm, ABC's Shark Tank dominated its hour by 55% over its closest competition (1.7/6 vs. 1.1/4 = CBS' Hawaii Five-0). Growing week to week in Total Viewers (+13%) and Adults 18-49 (+6%), the ABC unscripted series drew its biggest audience this season and matched a season best with young adults.
20/20 (10-11pm - 7.0 million and 1.4/5 in AD18-49): ABC's 20/20 ranked #1 in the 10 o'clock hour with Adults 18-49 (1.4/5) and Adults 25-54 (2.0/6), beating CBS' Blue Bloods (1.1/4 and 1.7/5) by 27% and 18%, respectively. In addition, 20/20 dominated NBC's Dateline in the hour across all key measures. On 20/20, Donald Trump and his family -- including wife Melania Trump in her first broadcast interview since her husband declared his presidential run, and his four adult children -- sat down for an interview with Barbara Walters.
· Building week to week in Total Viewers (+35% - 7.0 million vs. 5.2 million), Adults 18-49 (+8% - 1.4/5 vs. 1.3/5) and Adults 25-54 (+18% - 2.0/6 vs. 1.7/5), 20/20 earned its 2nd-highest numbers this season across all three measures.
