MORE THAN 100 MILLION PEOPLE WATCH ALL OR PART OF CBS NEWS'S MAJOR BROADCAST'S THROUGH THE FIFTH WEEK OF THE 2015-2016 SEASON

More than 100 million people have watched all or part of CBS News' major broadcasts through the fifth week of the 2015-2016 television season, according to Nielsen most current ratings. An estimated 37.76 million of those viewers are adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news.

In fact, on a season-to-date basis, more viewers in America are watching CBS News major broadcasts than any other broadcast network's news offerings, according to Nielsen.

Last week alone, original reporting from across the country and around the world helped make the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY and CBS THIS MORNING the only evening news and morning news broadcasts to post year-to-year viewer gains, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. That reporting propelled CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD and FACE THE NATION to be the #1 Sunday morning news and Sunday morning public affairs broadcasts respectively with viewers. And it made 48 HOURS the #1 program with viewers on Saturday night.

Here's a recap of how CBS News broadcasts performed last week, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings:
