ABC Wins 2nd Straight Season Premiere Friday - Shark Tank Leads the Night 3rd Year in a Row

ABC Friday Prime (8-11pm - 5.5 million and 1.3/5 in AD18-49): ABC won the opening Friday of the season in Adults 18-49, besting runner-up CBS' night of premieres by 18% (1.3/5 vs. 1.1/5) and ranking #1 in 5 of 6 half-hours. ABC's Shark Tank and 20/20 (tie) ranked as Friday's Top 2 TV shows in the key young adult sales demo. 20/20 was also the night's #1 newsmagazine, beating NBC's 2-hour season opener of Dateline (9-11pm) in Total Viewers (+8%), Adults 18-49 (+30%) and Adults 25-54 (+20%). In fact among Adults 18-49, ABC led season-premiere Friday for the 2nd year in row and Shark Tank tallied its 3rd straight year as the #1 TV show on the night.
Last Man Standing (8-8:30pm - 6.3 million and 1.1/5 in AD18-49): At 8pm, the season opener of Last Man Standing was the most-watched TV show overall in its slot (6.3 million) and also ranked #1 among Adults 18-49 (1.1/5 - tie). LMS returned up from its April season finale (6.2 million and 1.1/5 on 4/17/15) in viewers and held even with young adults.
The Muppets-R (8:30-9pm - 3.8 million and 0.8/4 in AD18-49): At 8:30pm, a repeat of The Muppets premiere episode from Tuesday garnered extra sampling on Friday and took a competitive second in its half-hour with viewers (3.8 million) and young adults (0.8/4) to CBS' Amazing Race premiere.
Shark Tank (9-10pm - 6.0 million and 1.6/6 in AD18-49): At 9pm, ABC's season premiere of Shark Tank doubled its lead-in (+100%) and dominated the hour in Adults 18-49 by 60% over its nearest competition (1.6/6 vs.1.0/4 for CBS' premiere of Hawaii Five-0).
· Shark Tank was up over its May finale by 7% in Adults 18-49 (1.5/7 on 5/15/15). Please Note: Last year, Shark Tank aired as a 2-hour season premiere from 8-10pm.
20/20 (10-11pm - 5.4 million and 1.3/5 in AD18-49): ABC's 20/20 ranked #1 in the 10 o'clock hour among Adults 18-49 (1.3/5) and Adults 25-54 (1.8/6), tying CBS' Blue Bloods season premiere and beating the second hour of NBC's 2-hour Dateline by 8% and 6%, respectively (1.2/4 and 1.7/5). 20/20 reported on the 20th anniversary of the OJ Simpson murder trial verdict. Elizabeth Vargas' report featured portions of video from the civil trial deposition, home movies and photos, and new interviews with key players to help shed light on a case that riveted and shocked a nation.
