'TALENT' GENERATES FIVE-MONTH TIME-PERIOD HIGHS IN THE WEDNESDAY 8 P.M. HOUR, IS #1 FOR THE NIGHT IN TOTAL VIEWERS
'THE CARMICHAEL SHOW' IS THE MOST-WATCHED WEEK 3 SUMMER COMEDY IN 11 YEARS
'LAST COMIC' WINS AT 10 P.M. AMONG ABC, CBS & NBC IN EVERY KEY DEMO
Wednesday Primetime Results:
NBC tied for the nightlong win in adults 18-49 and won Wednesday outright in total viewers.
· "America's Got Talent" (1.8/7 in 18-49, 9.3 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) generated NBC's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results in the time period since April 8, when a special "Voice" averaged a 2.2 in 18-49 and 9.642 million viewers overall. "Talent" grew 6% week to week in 18-49 (1.8 vs. 1.7) and was up versus two weeks ago by +13% (1.8 vs. 1.6).
· "America's Got Talent" is the #1 telecast of the night in total viewers and wins the hour in that measure.
· "The Carmichael Show" (1.0/4 in 18-49, 4.7 million viewers overall from 9-9:30 p.m. ET) is the most-watched Week 3 episode of a summer comedy on the Big 4 in 11 years, since Fox's "Quints" averaged 6.0 million on June 30, 2004, a span covering 18 comedies.
· "The Carmichael Show" is currently credited with the three most watched episodes of a summer comedy on the Big 4 in the last eight years, pending updates, since CBS's debut of "Creature Comforts" averaged 6.2 million on June 4, 2007 (with "Carmichael" results at 9 p.m. of 4.8 million on Aug. 26, 4.8 million on Sept. 2 and 4.7 million on Sept. 9).
· "The Carmichael Show" tied for the time-period win among the Big 4 networks in adults 25-54 (with a 1.5 rating) and was #1 outright among those nets in women 25-54 (1.9), facing original competition in the slot from CBS's "Extant" and Fox's "Home Free," as well as ABC's "Modern Family" encore.
· A second episode of "The Carmichael Show" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall from 9:30-10 p.m. ET) retained 90% of the prior half-hour's rating in adults 18-49 and 100% in adults 18-34 (0.5 vs. 0.5).
· "Last Comic Standing" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 4.4 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) won the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and all other key demos.
· "Last Comic Standing" delivered a five-week high in total viewers (best since Aug. 5, 4.7 million).
· The "Last Comic" season finale retained 100% of last week's 1.1 rating in these prelim fast-affiliate ratings and 92% of last week's 1.2 in official nationals..
In Late-Night Metered Markets Wednesday Night:
Wednesday's "Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon":
· Scored the show's highest metered-market household rating for a Wednesday (3.1) in five months (since April 8, 3.1).
· Jumped +19% above its summer average (3.1 vs. 2.6).
· Grew +29% night to night (2.4 to 3.1) to virtually tie night two of CBS's "Late Show with Stephen Colbert" (3.2) after Colbert had doubled "Tonight" on night one.
· Grew +50% night to night in 18-49 in the local people meters (0.8 to 1.2) to outscore night two of CBS's "Late Show with Stephen Colbert" (0.8) after Colbert had nearly doubled "Tonight" on night one.
Jimmy Fallon's guests Wednesday included Justin Timberlake, Ellen DeGeneres and musical guest Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
Wednesday's "Late Night with Seth Meyers":
· Scored the show's highest metered-market household rating for a Wednesday (1.4) in more than four months (since April 29, 1.4).
· Jumped +17% above its summer average (1.4 vs. 1.2).
· Grew +27% night to night (1.1 to 1.4) to win the time period.
· Grew +25% night to night in 18-49 in the local people meters (0.4 to 0.5) to win the time period (0.8).
Seth Meyers' guests Wednesday included Craig Ferguson, Gabourey Sidibe and the winner of "Last Comic Standing," Clayton English.
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 3.1/8; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 3.2/8; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.5/4.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.2/6; "Late Show," 0.8/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.1/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
