Monday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC, "American Ninja Warrior" Reclaim Top Spots

Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (8/31/15):

NBC (5.976 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.8, #1) was back on top on Monday with new episodes of "American Ninja Warrior" (7.168 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1) and "Running Wild with Bear Grylls" (3.592 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3).

ABC (3.934 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) then fell to second place with new episodes of "Bachelor in Paradise" (5.213 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2), "After Paradise" (3.818 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) and the season finale of "The Whispers" (2.772 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9).

Next up was CBS (4.950 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T3) and its repeat lineup of "2 Broke Girls" (4.543 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #5), "The Odd Couple" (3.757 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6), "Scorpion" (4.658 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9) and "NCIS: Los Angeles" (6.041 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.950 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T3) offered up a new "So You Think You Can Dance" (2.950 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6).

And finally, originals from "Penn & Teller: Fool Us" (2.127 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #12), "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.769 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9) and "Significant Mother" (0.915 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #13) on The CW (1.734 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), said trio posted a 0.6, 0.6 and a 0.3 rating, respectively.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.0/4 in metered-market households with an encore) tied CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.0/4 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.3/2 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 with an encore in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (9/1/14):

NBC (5.138 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1) and FOX (4.667 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1) shared the demo crown on Labor Day as the latter served up new episodes of "MasterChef" (5.443 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.9, #T1) and "Hotel Hell" (3.891 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3).

The Peacock then offered up originals from "Running Wild with Bear Grylls" (3.894 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #7) and "American Ninja Warrior" (5.760 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.9, #T1).

Next up was ABC (4.284 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) with a new "Bachelor in Paradise" (4.655 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T4) and the season finale of "Mistresses" (3.541 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T8).
