WE tv's ORIGINAL SERIES FUEL SECOND QUARTER GROWTH
"Braxton Family Values" and "Marriage Boot Camp Reality Stars" Pacing to
Deliver Best Seasons Ever
WE tv is the Most Social Network on Thursday and Friday Nights
NEW YORK, NY -- June 30, 2015 -- WE tv is off to a hot start this summer. For the recently ended second quarter, WE tv was up +29% and +26% respectively among W18-49 and W25-54 versus first quarter and up +8% and +10% among W18-49 and W25-54 versus the second quarter of last year. The network's steady climb is due in large part to the success of its original series "Braxton Family Values" and "Marriage Boot Camp Reality Stars" which are both on track to deliver their best seasons ever. Original programming also drove WE tv to rank as the most social network on Thursday and Friday nights.
"Our unscripted original series continue to drive consistent growth at WE tv and we couldn't be happier with this performance," said Marc Juris, WE tv's president. "At a time when most of our cable competitors are flat or down, our audience growth is a direct reflection of the quality stories we present each week and the connection viewers make to our shows and characters."
During the second quarter, WE tv premiered new seasons of "Braxton Family Values" and "Marriage Boot Camp Reality Stars" and debuted the new series "Cutting It: In the ATL." Signature series "Braxton Family Values" experienced the network's highest-ever season premiere for a WE tv original and "Marriage Boot Camp Reality Stars" debuted to a franchise high. Both series claimed the number one spots on SocialGuide on their respective premiere nights.
Season to date, "Braxton Family Values" is averaging 600,000 W25-54 and 726,000 A25-54, up +14% and +12% respectively over the prior season while "Marriage Boot Camp Reality Stars" is averaging 452,000 W25-54 and 568,000 A25-54, up an impressive +67% and +62% respectively over its previous season. This performance puts both series on track to deliver their best seasons ever. Furthermore, the back-to-back airings of "Braxton Family Values" and "Cutting It: In the ATL" on Thursday nights make WE tv the #1 cable network in the time period (9-11 pm ET/PT) among the female demos and the #1 cable network for the night among all African American adult and female demos.
In addition to strong linear performance, WE tv ranked as the #1 most social cable network on Thursday and Friday nights with "Braxton Family Values" taking the top spot on Thursday nights, "Cutting It: In the ATL" landing in the #3 spot and "Marriage Boot Camp Reality Stars" ranking #1 on Friday nights.
