ABC is #1 on Monday as The Bachelorette and The Whispers Grow

ABC Monday Prime (8-11pm - 5.7 million and 1.6/6 in AD18-49): ABC ranked #1 on Monday in Total Viewers (5.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.6/6-tie). ABC's The Bachelorette was Monday's #1 TV show in Total Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 (top series of the night for 6th week running).

The Bachelorette (8-10pm - 6.6 million and 1.9/7 in AD18-49): From 8-10pm in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, ABC's The Bachelorette (6.6 million and 1.9/7) won it 2-hour time slot over NBC's American Ninja Warrior for the first time this season (6.1 million and 1.8/6) and beat Fox's So You Think You Can Dance (3.3 million and 0.9/3) by its biggest margins yet (+100%/+111%).

· The Bachelorette was up week to week in Total Viewers (+5%) and Adults 18-49 (+6%), equaling a best-since premiere number with young adults - since 5/18/15. In addition, The Bachelorette was up from its year-ago telecast for the 4th week in a row in Adults 18-49 (+27% - 1.9/7 vs. 1.5/5 on 6/23/14).

The Whispers (10-11pm - 4.0 million and 1.0/3 in AD18-49): During the 10pm hour, ABC's The Whispers was up 11% week to week in Adults 18-49 (1.0/3) and was steady with the year-ago performance of Mistresses in the hour (1.0/3 on 6/23/14). Consistently a big gainer in TV playback, The Whispers is projected to win its hour in Live + 3 Day and Live + 7 Day Adult 18-49 ratings.

· On average in the Live + 3 Day data, The Whispers shoots up 64% over its L+SD Adult 18-49 rating. The new ABC drama also adds another 2.0 million Total Viewers (+43%) after 3 days of TV playback, drawing an average audience of 6.6 million viewers in L3.

A note about DVR penetration: DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample is currently at 49% in U.S. TV Homes. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which are increasingly not reflected in the overnight Live + Same Day numbers. As a result, the Live + 7 Day ratings are the most accurate measure to gauge the size of the TV audience.
