"DATELINE" DELIVERS NBC'S TOP TOTAL-VIEWER RESULT IN THE THURSDAY 10 P.M. HOUR IN 11 WEEKS
Thursday Primetime Results:
· "Dateline NBC" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) equaled the network's top 18-49 rating in the time period in 11 weeks (since the "Parenthood" finale Jan. 29, 1.7) and generated NBC's best results in total viewers and adult 25-54 (1.6) in the slot since that same date (5.459 million viewers overall, 2.1 in 25-54).
· Despite the 10 p.m. hour, "Dateline NBC" is currently maintaining or increasing its rating half-hour to half-hour in every key measure, while the ABC and CBS competition is flat or down in all key categories. "Dateline" grew by +10% in adults 18-49 from its first half-hour to its second (1.0 to 1.1), +13% in adults 25-54 (1.5 to 1.7), +20% in men 25-54 (1.0 to 1.2), +11% in women 25-54 (1.9 to 2.1) and +14% in total viewers (5.1 million to 5.8 million).
· "Dateline" finished within 0.1 of #1 in the 10:30 half-hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in the key news demo of adults 25-54 (1.7 vs. 1.8 for CBS's "Elementary"), nearly erasing a 0.6 margin for "Elementary" during the prior half-hour (1.5 vs. 2.1).
· An encore telecast of "The Blacklist" averaged a 0.7/2 in 18-49 and 3.3 million viewers overall from 9-10:01 p.m. ET).
· A rebroadcast of "Law & Order: SVU" (0.7/3 in 18-49, 3.8 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) grew from half-hour to half-hour in all key measures. The "SVU" encore increased from its first half-hour to its second by +33% in adults 18-49 (0.6 to 0.8) and +43% in women 18-49 (0.7 to 1.0).
In Late-Night Metered Markets Thursday Night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.3/6 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.1/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.3/6.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.8/4.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.5/5 in metered-market households and a 0.5/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.1/4 in metered-market households with an encore) trailed CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with James Corden" (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
