Friday's Broadcast Ratings: ABC Edges NBC, CBS in Tight Demo Race

Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (2/20/15):

ABC (7.103 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) was the winner of a tight demo race on Friday with its combination of "Last Man Standing" (6.538 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T6), "Cristela" (5.081 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #8), "Shark Tank" (8.378 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.2, #1) and "20/20" (7.123 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2).

NBC (5.081 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2) then was a close second with its rebroadcast of "Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special" (5.081 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T3).

Next up was CBS (10.020 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3) and originals from "Undercover Boss" (7.945 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T6), "Hawaii Five-0" (10.502 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #5) and "Blue Bloods" (11.615 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T3).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.228 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) served up fresh installments of "World's Funniest Fails" (2.562 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #9) and "Glee" (1.894 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #10).

And finally, a new "Hart of Dixie" (1.248 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T11) and repeats of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (0.961 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #13) and another "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.166 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T11) on The CW (1.156 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), said trio posted a 0.6, 0.3 and 0.5 rating, respectively.

·In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.4/6; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3 with an encore.

·From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

·From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.5/5 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.1/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.7/4 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1).

·At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (2/21/14):

NBC (14.846 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.6, #1) was the top draw on Friday with its primetime coverage of the "2014 Olympic Winter Games" (14.846 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.6, #1).

ABC (5.380 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) then was the number two network with its mix of "Last Man Standing" (4.028 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T5) and another "Last Man Standing" (3.888 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T5) repeats plus new episodes of "Shark Tank" (6.138 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2) and "20/20" (6.045 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.5, #3).

Next up was CBS (6.170 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) and its marathon lineup of "Blue Bloods" (5.332 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.7, #9), another "Blue Bloods" (6.325 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T5) and yet another "Blue Bloods" (6.855 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T5).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.252 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up second runs of "Bones" (3.132 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #4), "Enlisted" (1.560 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #10) and "Raising Hope" (1.185 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12).

And finally, repeats of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.414 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12), another "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.427 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #11) and "The Originals" (0.516 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #14) on The CW (0.968 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Whose Line" posted a 0.4 rating at 8:00/7:00c and 0.4 rating at 8:30/7:30c while "The Originals" managed a 0.2 rating.
