Discovery Channel's Season Two Premiere of "Alaskan Bush People" Set Ratings and Viewership Records on Jan. 2

DISCOVERY CHANNEL'S SEASON TWO PREMIERE OF "ALASKAN BUSH PEOPLE" SET RATINGS AND VIEWERSHIP RECORDS ON JAN. 2

Season Premiere Delivers 3.1 Million Total Viewers

ALASKAN BUSH PEOPLE and the Brown family returned to Discovery Channel for a much anticipated second season premiere on Friday, Jan. 2, breaking viewership and ratings records in Persons 25-54 and Total Viewers P2+.

The season two premiere episode, "Breaking Free", at 10PM ET/PT delivered a record 1.66 in Persons 25-54, up +80% vs. the series premiere on May 6, 2014, with 3.13 million total viewers P2+, up +76% vs. the series premiere. The Friday ALASKAN BUSH PEOPLE premiere also delivered 2.12 for Men 25-54 and 1.22 for Women 25-54, up +71% and +103%, respectively, vs. the series premiere in 2014.

The Brown Family is on a mission this season to get back to the bush. Last Season, we were introduced to Billy Brown, his wife Ami and their seven grown children - 5 boys and 2 girls - who were born and raised wild. So far removed from civilization, the Brown's often go six to nine months of the year without seeing an outsider. Living so remotely, they've developed their own accent and way of doing things. Simply put, they are unlike any other family in America.

An all new episode of ALASKAN BUSH PEOPLE will air on Friday, Jan 9 at 10 PM ET/PT.

ALASKAN BUSH PEOPLE is produced for Discovery Channel by Park Slope Productions where Terrence Sacchi, Paul Reitano and Molly Mayock are executive producers. Carter Figueroa is executive producer for Discovery and Andy Berg, Vice President of Production at Animal Planet, developed the series.
