Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: "Rudolph," "Victoria's Secret" Put CBS in Front

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (12/9/14):

CBS (10.004 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.6, #1) claimed top demo and total viewer honors on Tuesday with its mix of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" (10.669 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.8, #2) and "NCIS" (10.223 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T4) encores plus "Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" (9.119 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 3.3, #1).

NBC (6.638 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T2) then claimed the silver with its lineup of "The Voice" (10.870 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #3), "Marry Me" (4.858 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T9), "About a Boy" (3.732 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.9, #15) and "Angelina Jolie: Unbroken" (4.749 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #14).

Next up was FOX (3.905 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T2) with originals from "MasterChef Junior" (4.884 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.6, #6), "New Girl" (3.290 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T7) and "The Mindy Project" (2.560 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T9).

Meanwhile, ABC (4.849 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T4) served up a repeat "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" (4.179 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T11) alongside the fall finales of "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (5.224 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T4) and "Forever" (5.144 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T11).

And finally, The CW (3.671 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T4) closed out the evening with its own fall finales from "The Flash" (4.534 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T7) and "Supernatural" (2.808 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T11). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "The Flash" posted a 1.0 rating while "Supernatural" delivered a 0.8 rating.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.2/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (12/10/13):

CBS (14.418 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.8, #1) pulled in front on Tuesday behind new episodes of "NCIS" (18.838 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.8, #3) and "NCIS: Los Angeles" (14.706 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.4, #4) alongside "The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2013" (9.710 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 3.4, #1).

NBC (8.900 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.4, #2) then had to settle for second place with originals from "The Biggest Loser 15" (6.221 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.9, #7), "The Voice" (11.212 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 3.1, #2) and "Chicago Fire" (9.267 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.2, #5).

Next up was FOX (5.088 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T3) with its presentation of "American Country Awards 2013" (5.088 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.4, #9).
