FOX Sports 1 Also Sets Second Straight Total Day Record Based on Overnights

Los Angeles - In many respects, yesterday's San Francisco Giants 2-1 win over the Washington Nationals in National League Division Series Game 2, presented by Budweiser, was epic. The game, which gave the Giants a 2-0 series lead, lasted six hours and 23 minutes, becoming MLB's longest playoff game by time ever. It took 18 innings to play, tying the mark for the longest MLB playoff game ever. It also led FOX Sports 1 to be the No. 1 cable network and No. 2 network overall in prime time households last night based on metered market figures released by Nielsen. In the meters, FOX Sports 1 averaged a 2.8 to lead all cable networks, second only on the night to the 3.2 registered by CBS.

On the day, FOX Sports 1 averaged a 0.92 metered market rating from 6:00 AM - 3:00 AM, eclipsing the former record (.84) set Friday. It's projected that Friday, Oct. 3 and Saturday, Oct. 4 are likely going to be the two most-watched days in FOX Sports 1 history when national numbers are released.

According to fast national figures also released today by Nielsen, the Giants-Nationals NLDS Game 2 averaged 3,160,000 viewers, fifth most-watched telecast in FOX Sports 1 history. NLDS Game 1 between the Cardinals and Dodgers on Friday became FOX Sports 1's most-watched event ever (3.6 million). Compared to the first game of the Giants-Nationals NLDS series, Game 2 was up 55% (2,044,000 total viewers). The first nine innings averaged 2.5 million viewers, while innings 10-18 averaged 3.9 million, an increase of 56%. The game peaked at 4.2 million viewers at 11:30 PM-12:00 AM ET.

In San Francisco the game averaged 11.5 household rating, while it posted a 9.5 in Washington, DC, both records for FOX Sports 1 in each respective market.
