"THE TONIGHT SHOW," "LATE NIGHT" HANDILY WIN LATE-NIGHT RATINGS FOR WEEK OF AUG. 25-29

Encore Telecasts of Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers Top ABC, CBS Timeslot Competition

NEW YORK - Sept. 5, 2014 - Encore telecasts of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and "Late Night with Seth Meyers" have dominated their broadcast competition for the late-night ratings week of Aug. 25-29.

Fallon's week of rebroadcasts averaged a 0.80 rating in adults 18-49, generating a margin of +45% versus the 0.55 for ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," which was in original on four of five nights. Fallon topped CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," which was also in first-run on four of five nights, by a +122% margin (0.80 vs. 0.36).

At 12:35 a.m. ET, Meyers encores averaged a 0.41 for the week, good enough to top Letterman's week of mostly original telecasts (0.36), despite Meyers' later start time. In the 12:35-1:35 a.m. time period, the "Late Night" encores also delivered bigger audiences than CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" rebroadcasts in every key ratings measure. Additionally, they beat ABC's original "Nightline" in their head-to-head half-hour from 12:30-1 a.m. in all key categories.

At 1:35 a.m. ET, rebroadcasts of "Last Call with Carson Daly" outrated CBS's "Late Late Show" encores (with a 0.28 rating vs. a 0.22). Versus the same week last year, "Last Call" was up +4% in 18-49 rating (to a 0.28 from a 0.27).
