UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - July 29, 2014 - NBC has won the primetime week of July 20-27 among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, with the Tuesday and Wednesday editions of "America's Got Talent" tying as the #1 primetime telecast of the week on those nets.

Also ranking in the top 30 last week were "American Ninja Warrior," "Dateline NBC," "Hollywood Game Night," "Last Comic Standing," "Food Fighters" and "Taxi Brooklyn." NBC averaged a 1.2 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49 and 5.2 million viewers overall for the week, according to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

NBC finished up +9% versus the same week last year in 18-49 rating (with a 1.2 vs. a 1.1), while the other Big 4 nets were all down year-to-year. In total viewers, NBC was up +16% versus the same week last year (5.3 million vs. 4.5 million).

This marks the 10thweek in a row NBC has ranked #1 or tied for #1 in 18-49 among the Big 4 nets excluding networks boosted by the major sporting events the NBA Finals and the Baseball All-Star Game.

The week's two editions of "America's Got Talent" were the top two telecasts last week on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox in adults 18-49 as well as total viewers, adults 25-54, kids 2-11 and teens 12-17. Joining the pair of "Talent" telecasts among the top 30 programs on the Big 4 last week were "American Ninja Warrior" (#7), "Dateline NBC," "Hollywood Game Night" and "Last Comic Standing" (tied for #17) and "Food Fighters" and "Taxi Brooklyn" (tied for #25).

In addition to leading the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 last week, NBC also ranked #1 among those nets in adults, men and women 25-54 and was #1 or tied for #1 in men and women 18-49 and women 18-34.

Through 44 weeks of the 2013-14 broadcast year, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, men 18-49 (tied with Fox), men 25-54 and all key adult-female demos. It's the first time NBC has ranked #1 in adults 18-49 at this point in the season in 10 years (since the 2003-04 season).

NBC's 2.5 rating in adults 18-49 is the network's top average at this point in the season in four years (since a 2.5 in 2009-10).

Versus one year ago, NBC is up +14% for the broadcast year to date in adults 18-49 (2.5 vs. 2.2).

In total viewers, NBC ranks #2 for the broadcast year with an average of 8.5 million viewers, which is its biggest overall audience 44 weeks into the season in eight years (since 2005-06, 9.0 million). Versus one year ago, NBC is up +26% season to date in total viewers (8.5 million vs. 6.7 million). It's the first time NBC has ranked #2 in total viewers at this point in the season in 10 years.

Primetime averages for the week of July 21-27 in adults 18-49 are: NBC, 1.2/4; Fox, 1.0/4; CBS, 1.0/4; ABC, 0.9/3; and CW, 0.3/1. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 5.4 million; NBC, 5.2 million; ABC, 3.9 million; Fox, 2.8 million; and CW, 0.8 million.

Season-to-date averages are: NBC, 2.5/8; Fox, 2.2/7; CBS, 2.1/7; ABC, 2.0/6; and CW, 0.7/2. In overall total viewers, the season averages are: CBS, 9.7 million; NBC, 8.5 million; ABC, 7.2 million; Fox, 6.6 million; and CW, 1.7 million.

NBC highlights for the week of July 21-27:

Monday: Behind a highly rated episode of "American Ninja Warrior," NBC was second for the night in the 18-49 demo with a 1.6 rating, 5 share and 4.9 million viewers overall.

The two-hour "American Ninja Warrior" telecast drew a 1.9/6 and 5.8 million viewers. That matched the season high in the demo and equaled the show's best rating since July 23, 2012, while setting a season high in total viewers. It also easily won the 9-11 p.m. timeslot in adults 18-49, 18-34 and 25-54, as well as total viewers. In its first hour from 9-10 p.m., "Ninja" handily defeated the Fox premiere of "Hotel Hell" and ABC's "The Bachelorette" in 18-49 and from 10-11 p.m. "Ninja" outdelivered CBS' "Under the Dome."

Tuesday: NBC won the night versus the Big 4 networks with a 2.0/7 and 8.4 million viewers overall. NBC was #1 in adults 18-49 in every half-hour timeslot from 8:30-11 p.m. (tying for #1 in the 8 p.m. timeslot) and #1 for the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in all key demos.

The premiere of "Food Fighters" (1.0/4 in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) grew substantially from its first to its second half-hour by +33% in 18-49 (to a 1.2 rating from a 0.9) and +10% in total viewers (4.7 million vs. 4.3 million).

"America's Got Talent" (2.4/8 in 18-49, 10.5 million viewers overall) easily won the 9-11 p.m. timeslot, nearly tripling the closest Big 4 network. "America's Got Talent" grew versus the prior week's 8-10 p.m. telecast by +20% in adults 18-49 (to a 2.4 rating from a 2.1) and +22% or 1.9 million persons in total viewers (10.4 million vs. 8.5 million).

Wednesday: Once again, NBC won the night among the Big 4 networks in the 18-49 demo (1.9/7) and total viewers (8.7 million).

"America's Got Talent" wins its timeslot (2.4/8 in 18-49, 10.3 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) won the time period in 18-49 and increased its 18-49 and total-viewers during each half-hour, with this track in 18-49: 1.9, 2.3, 2.4, 2.7. The telecast more than doubled Fox's two-hour "So You Think You Can Dance" in the demo (2.4 vs. 1.1) and total viewers (10.3 million vs. 3.8 million). In its second hour from 9-10 p.m., "America's Got Talent" dominated CBS' "Extant" in 18-49 (2.5 vs. 1.1 in that hour) and total viewers (10.3 million vs 6.4 million).

"Taxi Brooklyn" (1.0/4 in 18-49, 5.3 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) tied its season high in the demo and won the timeslot among ABC, CBS and NBC. Week to week, "Taxi Brooklyn" increased by +25% in 18-49 rating (to a 1.0 from a 0.8) and +12% in total viewers (5.3 million vs. 4.7 million).

Thursday: The season finale of "Hollywood Game Night" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 4.0 million viewers overall from 8-9:01 p.m. ET) grew +10% or 0.1 of a point in 18-49 versus last summer's season finale and was up +41% or 1.2 million persons in total viewers (4.0 million vs. 2.8 million). From half-hour to half-hour, "Hollywood Game Night" increased +20% or 0.2 of a point in 18-49 (to a 1.2 from a 1.0).

Half-hour comedies "Welcome to Sweden" (0.8/3 in 18-49, 2.9 million viewers overall from 9:01-9:30 p.m.. ET) and "Working the Engels" (0.6/2 in 18-49, 2.2 million viewers overall from 9:30-10 p.m. ET) were both even versus a week ago and up in total viewers.

"Last Comic Standing" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 3.4 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) won its timeslot in 18-49 and most key demos. "Last Comic Standing" rose in its second half-hour from a 1.1 rating to a 1.2 in 18-49and also saw an increase in total viewers. Both are rare in the 10 p.m. hour.

Friday: "Dateline NBC" (1.1/5 in 18-49, 6.1 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) tied for the #1 rating of the night on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and delivered the show's biggest overall Friday audience since May 30. "Dateline" was #1 in the time period among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key demographics.

"Crossbones (0.5/2 in 18-49, 2.4 million viewers overall) matched its 18-49 rating of the prior two weeks and equaled its high since June 20.

Saturday: NBC ranked #1 in primetime Saturday night among the Big 4 networks in total viewers with the most-watched primetime show of the night on those nets, "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" (0.9/4 in 18-49, 4.4 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET). "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" matched its series-high adult 18-49 rating and equaled NBC's top 18-49 result in the slot, excluding sports, in 22 months (since Sept. 15, 2012).

A rebroadcast of "The Blacklist" (0.5/2 in 18-49, 2.6 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET.) topped the show's prior seven Saturday rebroadcasts to earn its highest 18-49 rating on a Saturday since Dec. 7, 2013.

Sunday: An encore "American Ninja Warrior" (0.7/3 in 18-49, 2.9 million viewers overall from 7-9 p.m. ET) doubled its 18-49 rating from its first half-hour to its fourth (to a 1.0 from a 0.5) and grew in total viewers by +52% or more than 1.2 million persons (3.6 million vs. 2.3 million). "Ninja" grew steadily through its two hours, with this half-hour track in 18-49: 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 1.0.

A rebroadcast "Chicago Fire" averaged a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 2.5 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET.

An encore "Chicago P.D." (0.7/2 in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) ranked #1 in the time period in 18-49 among ABC, CBS and NBC. The 10 p.m. "Chicago P.D." rebroadcast built on its lead-in by a tenth of a rating point or +17% in 18-49 and by +30% in total viewers. The 10 p.m. "Chicago P.D." rebroadcast grew week to week by 0.1 of a point or +17% in 18-49 rating (to a 0.7 from a 0.6) and by +17% in total viewers (3.3 million vs. 2.8 million), to deliver NBC's largest overall audience in the time period since June 29.
