UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - July 9, 2014 - NBC has won the primetime ratings week of June 30-July 6 among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, paced by "America's Got Talent," the #1 primetime telecast of the week on the Big 4 networks in every key ratings category. According to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research, NBC averaged a 1.1 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49 and 4.7 million viewers overall for the week.

NBC has now finished #1 in 18-49 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox during five of seven weeks since the end of the traditional season, finishing #2 only during the two weeks ABC carried NBA Finals coverage.

NBC also ranked #1 last week among the Big 4 networks in adults, men and women 25-54; men and women 18-49; women 18-34 and adults 18-34 (tied with Fox).

Joining "America's Got Talent" in the week's top 30 primetime programs on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox were Monday's "American Ninja Warrior" encore (tied for #11), Tuesday's "The Night Shift" (tied for #11), a Wednesday "Talent" encore (tied for #11), Thursday's "Last Comic Standing" (tied for #19), Friday's "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" (tied for #19) and Wednesday's "Taxi Brooklyn" (tied for #26).

"America's Got Talent" held the #1 ranking for the week on the Big 4 in all key measures - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers - as well as kids 2-11 and teens 12-17.

The five regular original telecasts of "Talent" so far this summer have generated the top five 18-49 and total-viewer results among all entertainment broadcasts on the Big 4 networks since the end of the May sweep.

Through 41 weeks of the 2013-14 broadcast year, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and all key adult-female demos. It's the first time NBC has ranked #1 in adults 18-49 at this point in the season in 10 years (since the 2003-04 season).

NBC's 2.5 rating in adults 18-49 is the network's top average at this point in the season in four years (since a 2.6 in 2009-10). Versus one year ago, NBC is up +9% for the broadcast year to date in adults 18-49 (2.5 vs. 2.3).

In total viewers, NBC ranks #2 for the broadcast year with an average of 8.7 million viewers, which is its biggest overall audience 41 weeks into the season in eight years (since 2005-06, 9.2 million). Versus one year ago, NBC is up +27% season to date in total viewers (8.7 million vs. 6.8 million). It's the first time NBC has ranked #2 in total viewers at this point in the season in 10 years.

Primetime averages for the week of June 30-July 6 in adults 18-49 are: NBC, 1.1/4; CBS, 0.9/4; Fox, 0.9/3; ABC, 0.9/3; and CW, 0.2/1. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 4.9 million; NBC, 4.7 million; ABC, 3.7 million; Fox, 2.7 million; and CW, 0.7 million.

Season-to-date averages are: NBC, 2.5/8; Fox, 2.3/7; CBS, 2.2/7; ABC, 2.1/6; and CW, 0.7/2. In overall total viewers, the season averages are: CBS, 9.9 million; NBC, 8.7 million; ABC, 7.4 million; Fox, 6.8 million; and CW, 1.8 million.

NBC highlights for the week of June 30-July 6:

Monday: "Harry Potter: The Making of Diagon Alley" (0.7 rating, 3 share in adults 18-49, 3.0 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) tied for #2 in the time period among the Big 4 nets in men 18-34 (with a 0.5 rating).

An encore telecast of "American Ninja Warrior" (1.4/4 in adults 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) retained 82% of the prior week's results for an original in adults 18-49 (with a 1.4 vs. the previous week's 1.7) and 87% in total viewers (4.495 million vs. 5.151 million).

For its second hour from 10-11 p.m., the "Ninja" encore ranked #2 among ABC, CBS and NBC in 18-49, within 2 shares of CBS's season premiere of "Under the Dome" (1.6/5 from 10-11 for "Ninja" vs. a 2.1/7 for "Dome") and +45% ahead of ABC's original "Mistresses" (1.1/3). From 10-11 p.m., the second half of the "Ninja" encore tied the "Under the Dome" debut in men 18-34 (1.1 rating each).

Tuesday: NBC won Tuesday night in 18-49 and total viewers among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox: with the #1 and #2 shows of the night on the Big 4 in 18-49, "America's Got Talent" and "The Night Shift," which led six of six half-hours among the Big 4 in 18-49 and total viewers and won their slots among the Big 4 in every key measure.

"America's Got Talent" (2.6/9 in 18-49, 11.1 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) equaled the show's highest 18-49 rating since June 3 (2.9). Versus the same night last year, "Talent" was up by +8% in 18-49 rating (with a 2.6 vs. a 2.4 on July 2, 2013) and up +17% in total viewers (11.1 million vs. 9.6 million). "America's Got Talent" beat the combined ABC-CBS-Fox-CW competition in the time period in adults 18-49 (2.6 vs. a combined 2.5). From its first hour to its second, "Talent" grew by 0.7 of a point in 18-49 (3.0 vs. 2.3), its strongest hour-to-hour growth so far this season.

"The Night Shift" (1.4/5 in 18-49, 6.9 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) jumped versus the prior week by +17% in 18-49 rating (to a 1.4 from a 1.2) and by +16% in total viewers (6.9 million vs. 5.9 million) to deliver its top 18-49 rating since June 10 (1.5) and its biggest overall audience since the May 27 debut (7.7 million). In its sixth week, "The Night Shift" is still retaining 88% of its premiere 1.6 in 18-49 on May 27, which was NBC's top summer drama debut in five years (since "The Philanthropist," June 24, 2009).

NBC ranked #1 among the Big 4 networks Tuesday night in all key measures.

Wednesday: NBC won the night in total viewers among the Big 4 networks, with time-period wins from "America's Got Talent" and "Taxi Brooklyn."

An encore telecast of "America's Got Talent" (1.4/5 in adults 18-49, 6.4 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) tied for #1 in the two-hour time period among the Big 4 in adults 18-49 and was #1 outright among those networks in total viewers. "America's Got Talent" rebroadcast attracted NBC's biggest overall audience in the slot, excluding sports, since Jan. 8, and scored the network's top 18-49 rating in the time period, excluding sports, since May 14.

"Taxi Brooklyn" (1.0/4 in 18-49, 5.2 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) equaled the prior week's debut in adult 18-49 rating and retained 98% of its premiere result in total viewers (5.2 million vs. 5.2 million). Versus NBC's average in the time period last summer, "Taxi Brooklyn" was up +27% in total viewers (5.2 million vs. 4.1 million, L+SD non-sports). "Taxi Brooklyn" won the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, as well as total viewers, adults 18-34 and adults 25-54, plus all key adult-female demos.

Thursday: Four consecutive telecasts of "Undateable" delivered results of a 0.5/2 in 18-49 and 2.2 million viewers overall with an encore telecast at 8 p.m. ET; a 0.6/3 in 18-49 and 2.2 million viewers overall at 8:30 p.m.; a 0.6/3 in 18-49 and 2.1 million viewers overall at 9; and a 0.7/3 in 18-49 and 2.0 million viewers overall at 9:30. From its first telecast to its fourth, "Undateable" grew by +40% in adults 18-49 (to a 0.7 rating from a 0.5). Each of the eight "Undateable" telecasts this summer that has followed another "Undateable" episode has matched or built on that 18-49 lead-in.

"Last Comic Standing" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) won the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and virtually all other key demos and has now won the time period in 18-49 with all seven of its Thursday telecasts against all ABC and CBS competition excluding the NBA Finals. Despite the night's pre-holiday distractions, "Last Comic Standing" grew week to week by +10% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.1 rating from a 1.0) and +8% in adults 25-54 (1.4 vs. 1.3). Despite the 10 p.m. hour, "Last Comic" grew from half-hour to half-hour in 18-49 rating by +10% (to a 1.1 from a 1.0)).

Friday: NBC won Friday night among the Big 4 nets, leading six of six half-hours in both measures with the #1 and #2 shows of the night in both categories, "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks(R) Spectacular" and the 10-11 p.m. "Macy's" recap. NBC won the night among the Big 4 nets by a +67% margin in adults 18-49 (with a 1.0 rating vs. a 0.6 for second-place ABC) and by a +52% margin or 1.7 million persons in total viewers (5.0 million vs. 3.3 million for CBS). NBC led those networks for the night in all key measures.

"Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" (1.1/6 in 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) grew +18% in 18-49 rating comparing this year's second-hour result from 9-10 p.m. (1.3/7 for that hour) to the rating for its prior Friday telecast (1.1 for its one hour from 9-10 on Friday, July 4, 2008) and was up +19% or 1.1 million persons in total viewers (6.5 million from 9-10 vs. 5.4 million in 2008). This year's special grew by +114% from its first half-hour to its fourth in 18-49 (to a 1.5 from a 0.7) and by +91% or more than 3.6 million persons in total viewers (7.8 million vs. 4.1 million). Though last year's coverage ran on Thursday, which typically has higher usage levels than Friday nights (the year-ago July 4 primetime HUT level was 45.2 and this year's was 41.7), this year's telecast ran within 0.4 of a point of last year's telecast (1.5/7 in 18-49, 7.2 million viewers overall from 8-10 on Thursday, July 4, 2013).

From 10-11 p.m. ET, a recap telecast of "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" (0.9/4 in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall) ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key categories. Despite the 10 p.m. hour, the 10-11 p.m. "Macy's" recap was up by +13% from half-hour to half-hour in adults 18-49 (to a 0.9 from a 0.8).

Saturday: NBC ranked #1 in primetime Saturday night among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers with the #1 show of the night on those nets in all three categories, "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" (0.9/4 in 18-49, 5.3 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET). From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" grew by +67% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.0 rating from a 0.6) and by +49% or more than 2.0 million persons in total viewers (6.2 million vs. 4.2 million). Versus its prior telecast on June 14, "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" grew by +18% in total viewers (to 5.3 million from 4.5 million), to the show's biggest overall audience since May 3 (5.5 million).

"Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" matched NBC's highest adult 18-49 rating in the slot, excluding sports, in 21 months (since Sept. 15, 2012).

A rebroadcast of "The Blacklist" (0.4/2 in 18-49, 2.5 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET.) ranked #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in total viewers.

Sunday: An encore telecast of "American Ninja Warrior" (0.6/2 in 18-49, 2.6 million viewers overall from 7-9 p.m. ET) grew steadily throughout its two-hour time period, with this half-hour track: 0.4, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Ninja" grew in 18-49 rating by +100%.

The NBC Special "Miley Cyrus: Bangerz Tour" (0.7/2 in 18-49, 2.0 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) ranked #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in women 18-34 with a 0.9 rating.
