UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - June 17, 2014 - With "America's Got Talent" scoring the week's #1 non-sports results among primetime programs on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and every other key measure, NBC has finished #2 among those nets for the primetime week of June 2-8 in 18-49 as well as total viewers and all other key measures. According to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research, NBC has averaged a 1.3 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 5.1 million viewers overall for the week.

"Talent," Friday's NHL Stanley Cup Final Game 5 and Monday's "American Ninja Warrior" accounted for three of the week's top seven telecasts on the Big 4 nets in 18-49 (excluding sports pre- and post-game shows), with "Talent" ranking #4, Rangers-Kings hockey #5 and "Ninja Warrior" #7.

Also finishing among the week's top 20 primetime programs on the Big 4 last week in adults 18-49 were Tuesday's "The Night Shift" (#11), Wednesday's special "Dateline NBC" (tied for #12) and Thursday's "Last Comic Standing" (tied for #16).

Excluding sports, "Talent" ranked #1 among primetime broadcasts for the week on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in every key measure - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers - as well as kids 2-11 and teens 12-17.

NBC ranked #1 or tied for #1 on four of seven nights last week among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, leading Monday, tying for first on Wednesday and winning Friday and Saturday. The other three nights of the week were led by ABC's NBA coverage.

Through 38 weeks of the 2013-14 broadcast year, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, adults 18-34 (tied with Fox), men 18-49, men 25-54 and all key adult-female demos. It's the first time NBC has ranked #1 in adults 18-49 at this point in the season in 10 years (since the 2003-04 season).

NBC's 2.6 rating in adults 18-49 is the network's top average at this point in the season in four years (since a 2.6 in 2009-10).

Versus one year ago, NBC is up +13% for the broadcast year to date in adults 18-49 (2.6 vs. 2.3).

In total viewers, NBC ranks #2 for the broadcast year with an average of 9.0 million viewers, which is its biggest overall audience 38 weeks into the season in eight years (since 2005-06, 9.5 million). Versus one year ago, NBC is up +30% season to date in total viewers (9.0 million vs. 6.9 million). It's the first time NBC has ranked #2 in total viewers at this point in the season in 10 years.

Primetime averages for the week of June 9-15 in adults 18-49 are: ABC, 2.6/9; NBC, 1.3/5; Fox, 0.9/3; CBS, 0.8/3; and CW, 0.3/1. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: ABC, 7.8 million; NBC, 5.1 million; CBS, 5.0 million; Fox, 2.8 million; and CW, 1.0 million.

Season-to-date averages are: NBC, 2.6/8; Fox, 2.4/7; CBS, 2.3/7; ABC, 2.1/6; and CW, 0.7/2. In overall total viewers, the season averages are: CBS, 10.3 million; NBC, 9.0 million; ABC, 7.6 million; Fox, 7.0 million; and CW, 1.8 million.

NBC highlights for the week of June 9-15:

Monday: An encore telecast of "Last Comic Standing" (1.1 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) ranked #2 among the Big 4 in 18-49 and held steady or grew from half-hour to half-hour in every key demographic.

"American Ninja Warrior" (1.7/5 in adults 18-49, 4.9 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) ranks as the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49. "American Ninja Warrior" won its first hour from 9-10 among the Big 4 in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, including a +13% margin versus "24" from 9-10 in adults 18-49 (1.8 vs. 1.6). "American Ninja Warrior" claimed its second hour from 10-11 among ABC, CBS and NBC in every key demographic, with an 18-49 margin of +89% (earning a 1.7 rating from 10-11 vs. a 0.9 for ABC's "Mistresses" and CBS' "48 Hours" encore).

Tuesday: NBC ranked #2 Tuesday night in adults 18-49 behind only NBA-boosted ABC, with the #1 and #2 non-sports telecasts of the night on the Big 4 networks, "America's Got Talent" and "The Night Shift."

Against NBA competition, "America's Got Talent" (2.6/9 in 18-49, 11.5 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) grew +2% week to week in total viewers (11.5 million vs. 11.3 million), while retaining 90% of the prior week's 2.9 rating in 18-49. "America's Got Talent" was the #1 telecast of the night on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, total viewers and every other key measure. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Talent" grew by +43% in 18-49 rating (to a 3.0 from a 2.1) and by +26% or 2.6 million persons in total viewers (12.7 million vs. 10.1 million).

Despite competition from the NBA Finals, "The Night Shift" (1.5/4 in 18-49, 6.7 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) retained 100% of the prior week's rating in adults 18-49 (1.5 vs. 1.5) and 98% of the week-ago audience in total viewers (6.7 million vs. 6.9 million). Note that "The Night Shift" also retained 94% of its premiere 18-49 rating of two weeks earlier (1.5 vs. 1.6 on May 27).

Wednesday: NBC tied for the nightlong win Wednesday in adults 18-49 and won the night outright in total viewers with the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in both measures, "Dateline NBC" (1.4/5 in adults 18-49, 6.3 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET). The "Dateline" telecast, featuring the report "The People vs. O.J. Simpson: What the Jury Never Heard," grew from its first half-hour to its fourth by +33% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.6 from a 1.2), by +31% in adults 25-54 (2.1 vs. 1.6) and by +28% or 1.5 million persons in total viewers (6.9 million vs. 5.4 million).

"Growing Up Fisher" (0.9/4 in 18-49, 4.0 million viewers overall from 8-8:30; 0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers overall from 8:30-9 p.m.) maintained 100% of its 18-49 rating from half-hour to half-hour.

Thursday: Facing Game 4 of the NBA Finals in the West, "Hollywood Game Night" (1.0/4 in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall from 8-9:01 p.m. ET) retained 91% of the prior week's 18-49 rating (with a 1.0 vs. a 1.1) and grew week to week in total viewers by +6% (4.2 million vs. 4.0 million) to match the show's biggest overall audience since March 27. From its first half-hour to its second, "Hollywood Game Night" grew in every key measure, including gains of +22% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.1 rating from a 0.9), +17% in adults 25-54 (1.4 vs. 1.2) and +20% in women 25-54 (1.8 vs. 1.5).

"Undateable" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall from 9:01-9:30 p.m. ET; 0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.0 million viewers overall from 9:30-10) grew week to week in total viewers by +7% at 9:01 (3.2 million vs. 3.0 million) and +4% at 9:30 (3.0 million vs. 2.9 million). "Undateable" out-rated Fox's original "Gang Related" in both half-hours in adults 18-49, as well as adults 18-34 and 25-54 and all key adult-female demos. All six episodes of "Undateable" to date have out-rated every episode of all three of last summer's original comedies on the Big 4 networks (NBC's "Save Me" and Fox's "Anger Management" and "The Goodwin Games") in adults 18-49.

"Last Comic Standing" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 4.1 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) held steady from half-hour to half-hour in adults 18-49 (1.2 vs. 1.2), increased by +6% in adults 25-54 (to a 1.7 from a 1.6) and grew by +11% in women 25-54 (2.0 vs. 1.8), despite the 10 p.m. hour. "Last Comic Standing" is up versus NBC's average in the time period last summer by +20% in adults 18-49 (with a 1.2 rating vs. a 1.0, L+SD non-sports) and by +24% in total viewers (4.116 million vs. 3.321 million).

Friday: NBC Sports' coverage of the deciding double-overtime Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final between the New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings (2.3/10 in 18-49, 6.0 million viewers overall from 8:13-12:47 p.m. ET) was the most-watched Game 5 in six years (since a triple overtime Pittsburgh-Detroit matchup in 2008 (6.2 million). In 18-49, the telecast grew +21% versus last year's Game 5 in 18-49 (Bruins-Blackhawks, 1.9). In total viewers, the game was up +7% vs. one year ago (5.6 million) and up +81% versus 2012's Game 5, which also featured the Kings (Kings-Devils, 3.3 million). This year's Game 5 won the night among the Big 4 networks in adults18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and other key measures, ranking #1 in 18-49 for six of six primetime half-hours..

Saturday: NBC ranked #1 for the night among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, as "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" (0.8/3 in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) tied for the #1 primetime rating of the night on the Big 4 nets in adults 18-49 (with CBS's "48 Hours"). In its time period, "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" ranked #1 in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures.

A rebroadcast of "The Blacklist" averaged a 0.4/2 in 18-49 and 2.3 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET.

Sunday: NBC Sports' overrun coverage of golf's U.S. Open averaged a 1.1/5 in 18-49 and 5.8 million viewers overall from 7-7:47 and ranked #2 among the Big 4 networks in 18-49 and total viewers and #1 in adults 25-54 during that segment.

An encore telecast of "American Ninja Warrior" delivered a 0.7/2 in 18-49 and 2.5 million viewers overall from 8:08-9 p.m. ET.

Facing competition from the fifth and deciding game of the NBA Finals, "Believe" (0.7/2 in 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) maintained 100% of its 18-49 lead-in from an "American Ninja Warrior" encore and grew versus lead-in by +28% in total viewers. L+7 Time-Shifting: "Believe" originals are growing this season by an average of +69% in 18-49 rating from their L+SD results to L+7 (to a 1.81 from a 1.07) and increasing by 2.5 million persons in total viewers (7.1 million vs. 4.6 million).

Versus ABC's NBA Finals coverage, "Crisis" (0.7/2 in 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) finished within a tenth of a point of the 18-49 rating for its prior telecast (0.7 vs. 0.8), which did not face NBA competition. L+7 Time-Shifting: "Crisis" originals this season are increasing by an average of +63% in 18-49 rating from their L+SD results to L+7 (to a 1.73 from a 1.06) and growing by more than 2.2 million persons in total viewers (6.6 million vs. 4.3 million).
