UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - June 3, 2014 - With "America's Got Talent" scoring the week's #1 primetime rating on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and "American Ninja Warrior," "Last Comic Standing" and "The Night Shift" tying for #3, NBC has finished #1 among those nets for the primetime week of May 26-June 1 in the key 18-49 demo. According to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research, NBC has averaged a 1.3 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49 and 5.2 million viewers overall for the week.

Joining "Talent," "Ninja Warrior," "Last Comic" and "Night Shift" among the week's top 25 primetime programs on the Big 4 were the first two episodes of "Undateable," Friday's "Dateline NBC" and the NBC News Special "Inside the Mind of Edward Snowden: An NBC News Exclusive with Brian Williams," each of which tied for the #17 rating of the week.

NBC was #1 or tied for #1 for the week among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in every key demo - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

Since the May 21 conclusion of the May sweep, NBC has delivered successful launches for:

· "America's Got Talent," which last Tuesday opened with its most-watched season premiere in three years.

· "American Ninja Warrior," which debuted last Monday with a slot win among the Big 4 nets in adults 18-49 ahead of ABC's "Bachelorette" and Fox's "24."

· "Last Comic Standing," which last Thursday equaled the combined 18-49 rating of its ABC and CBS time-slot competition.

· "The Night Shift," NBC's top-rated premiere for a summer drama in 18-49 in nearly five years.

· "Undateable," the top-rated Big 4 summer comedy debut in 18-49 in five years.

· "Crossbones," which premiered with a two-month high for NBC in the Friday 10-11 p.m. ET slot.

Tuesday's ninth season debut of "America's Got Talent" ranked #1 in among primetime broadcasts for the week on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in nearly every key measure, including adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, total viewers, kids 2-11, teens 12-17 and all key adult-female demos.

Through 36 weeks of the 2013-14 broadcast year, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, men 18-49 (tied with Fox), men 25-54 and all key adult-female demos. It's the first time NBC has ranked #1 in adults 18-49 at this point in the season in 10 years (since the 2003-04 season).

NBC's 2.7 rating in adults 18-49 is the network's top average at this point in the season in four years (since a 2.7 in 2009-10). Versus one year ago, NBC is up +17% for the broadcast year to date in adults 18-49 (2.7 vs. 2.3).

In total viewers, NBC ranks #2 for the broadcast year with an average of 9.1 million viewers, which is its biggest overall audience 36 weeks into the season in eight years (since 2005-06, 9.6 million). Versus one year ago, NBC is up +32% season to date in total viewers (9.1 million vs. 6.9 million). It's the first time NBC has ranked #2 in total viewers at this point in the season in 10 years.

Primetime averages for the week of May 26-June 1 in adults 18-49 are: NBC, 1.3/4; ABC, 1.0/3; Fox, 1.0/3; CBS, 0.9/3; and CW, 0.3/1. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 5.5 million; NBC, 5.2 million; ABC, 4.1 million; Fox, 3.0 million; and CW, 1.0 million.

Season-to-date averages are: NBC, 2.7/8; Fox, 2.4/7; CBS, 2.3/7; ABC, 2.1/6; and CW, 0.8/2. In overall total viewers, the season averages are: CBS, 10.5 million; NBC, 9.1 million; ABC, 7.5 million; Fox, 7.2 million; and CW, 1.9 million.

NBC highlights for the week of May 26-June 1:

Monday: From 8-9 p.m. ET, "Countdown to American Ninja Warrior 2014" averaged a 0.8 rating, 3 share in adults 18-49 and 2.9 million viewers overall.

The season premiere of "American Ninja Warrior" (1.6/5 in 18-49, 4.7 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in its time period in 18-49 among the Big 4 nets and tied for the #1 rating of the night on those nets. For its first hour from 9-10 p.m., "American Ninja Warrior" ranked #1 on the Big 4 nets with a 1.6 rating, ahead of ABC's "Bachelorette" (1.5 that hour) and Fox's "24: Live Another Day" (1.5). For its second hour from 10-11 p.m., "American Ninja Warrior" dominated the competition among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and led those networks in every other key demographic.

Tuesday: NBC won Tuesday among the Big 4 networks in every key measure, winning six of six half-hours among the Big 4 in 18-49 and total viewers, with the #1 and #2 shows of the night on those nets in 18-49, "America's Got Talent" and "The Night Shift."

The ninth season debut of "America's Got Talent" (3.0/9 in 18-49, 12.0 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) finished within a tenth of a rating point in 18-49 of last year's premiere (which was boosted by a "Voice" lead-in and ran from 9-11 p.m.). In total viewers, it was the best "AGT" premiere in three years, up +7% versus last year (12.0 million last night vs. 11.2 million). The "Talent" debut was up +20% versus last summer's finale in 18-49 (3.0 vs. 2.5 from 9-11 on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013). In 18-49, "Talent" equaled the results in the slot of ABC's original "Extreme Weight Loss" (1.3), Fox's original reality (0.5) and CBS's encore dramas (1.2).

The premiere of "The Night Shift" (1.6/5 in 18-49, 7.7 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) won the slot among ABC, CBS and NBC in every key measure and scored NBC's highest rating for a summer drama series debut in nearly five years (since "The Philanthropist," June 24, 2009, 1.9). It's also the #2 summer drama series premiere on the Big 4 nets in nearly four years, trailing over that span only CBS's Summer 2013 debut of "Under the Dome." In total viewers, this is the biggest audience for an NBC drama in the time period since Feb. 4 (7.8 million for "Chicago Fire").

Wednesday: An encore telecast of "Last Comic Standing" (1.1/4 in adults 18-49, 4.0 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) grew from its first hour to its second by +20% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.2 rating from a 1.0), by +33% in adults 18-34 (0.8 vs. 0.6) and by +100% in men 18-34 (0.8 vs. 0.4).

The NBC News Special "Inside the Mind of Edward Snowden: An NBC News Exclusive with Brian Williams" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 5.9 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) won the 10 p.m. hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key demographics. From half-hour to half-hour, "Inside the Mind of Edward Snowden" grew in adults 25-54 by +6% (to a 1.9 rating from a 1.8), despite the 10 p.m. hour. "Inside the Mind of Edward Snowden" grew versus NBC's slot average last summer by +18% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.3 from a 1.1, L+SD, non-sports) and +44% or 1.8 million persons in total viewers (5.9 million vs. 4.1 million).

Thursday: "Hollywood Game Night" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall from 8-9:01 p.m. ET) scored its top rating since February (1.2/3 on Feb. 27 for its first Thursday telecast of the season) and matched the show's Thursday high for the season. In total viewers, it's the top "Hollywood Game Night" since March 27.

The debut of "Undateable" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 3.8 million viewers overall from 9:01-9:30 p.m. ET) scored as the highest-rated summer comedy series premiere on the Big 4 networks in 18-49 in five years, since ABC's "The Goode Family" on May 27, 2009, and highest-rated for NBC since "Come To Papa" on June 3, 2004. In total viewers, "Undateable" is the top summer comedy series premiere on the Big 4 nets in seven years, since CBS's "Creature Comforts" on June 4, 2007 and best on NBC since "Come To Papa." The 9 p.m. "Undateable" scored NBC's highest rating in the half-hour with regular programming since Nov. 7. Versus NBC's average in the time period last summer, "Undateable" was up +44% in 18-49 rating (with a 1.3 rating vs. a 0.9) and up +24% in total viewers (3.8 million vs. 3.1 million).

A second telecast of "Undateable" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 3.8 million viewers overall from 9:30-10 p.m. ET) retained 100% of the show's premiere rating and grew by +6% in adults 25-54 (to a 1.7 from a 1.6). The 9:30 "Undateable" ranked #1 in the time period among the Big 4 in adults 18-49 and other key demos. Versus NBC's average in the time period last summer, the 9:30 "Undateable" was up +30% in 18-49 rating (with a 1.3 rating vs. a 1.0) and up +11% in total viewers (3.8 million vs. 3.4 million).

"Last Comic Standing" (1.6/5 in 18-49, 4.7 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) ranked #1 in the 10-11 p.m. ET slot among ABC, CBS and NBC, matching the ABC-CBS competition combined (1.6 vs. a 1.6 combined for CBS's "Elementary" encore [0.8] and ABC's "Black Box" original [0.8]). "Last Comic" won the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in every key measure - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.

NBC tied for the nightlong win among the Big 4 in adults 18-49 (1.3) and won the night outright among those nets in women 18-49 (1.6).

Friday: NBC tied for the nightlong win in adults 18-49 among the Big 4 nets and won the night outright among those nets in adults 25-54 and total viewers with a two-month slot high from the debut of "Crossbones" and a tie for a two-month high from the Friday "Dateline."

"Dateline NBC" (1.3/5 in 18-49, 7.1 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) was a decisive #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Dateline" grew by +36% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.5 rating from a 1.1). "Dateline" matched its high rating in 18-49 in two months, since March 28, and hit a total-viewer high since that same date.

The premiere of "Crossbones" (1.0/4 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) captured NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the slot in two months (best since March 28) and captured the net's biggest overall audience in the slot in three months (since Feb. 21). "Crossbones" finished within 1 share of the time-period lead among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 (with a 4 share vs. a 5 for ABC's "20/20"), while tying for #1 among men 18-34 and ranking #1 outright among those nets in men 25-54 (1.3 rating).

Saturday: The NBC News Special "Mariah Carey: At Home In Concert With Matt Lauer" delivered a 0.4/2 in 18-49 and 1.9 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its fourth, the special maintained or increased its rating in every key demo.

"Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.8 million viewers overall) equaled NBC's highest adult 18-49 rating in the slot, excluding sports, in 20 months (since Sept. 15, 2012). "Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" tied for the #1 primetime rating of the night on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and was the #1 primetime show outright on those nets in adults 18-34.

A rebroadcast of "The Night Shift" averaged a 0.5/2 in 18-49 and 2.2 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET. Despite the 10 p.m. hour, the "Night Shift" encore maintained its rating from half-hour to half-hour in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

NBC tied for the nightlong win among the Big 4 nets in adults 18-49.

Sunday: An encore telecast of "America's Got Talent" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall from 7-9 p.m. ET) generated an 11-week time-period high for NBC in 18-49 and total-viewers, best since March 16. From its first half-hour to its fourth, the "Talent" rebroadcast grew by +57% in 18-49 rating (to a 1.1 from a 0.7) and +59% or 2.0 million persons in total viewers (5.4 million vs. 3.4 million).

"Believe" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 4.3 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) grew week to week by +29% in 18-49 rating (to a 0.9 from a 0.7) and +47% in total viewers (4.3 million vs. 2.9 million). L+7 Time-Shifting: "Believe" originals are growing this season by an average of +69% in 18-49 rating from their L+SD results to L+7 (to a 1.88 from a 1.11) and increasing by 2.6 million persons in total viewers (7.4 million vs. 4.8 million).

"Crisis" (0.8/3 in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) increased week to week by +14% in 18-49 rating (to a 0.8 from a 0.7) and by +32% in total viewers (3.9 million vs. 2.9 million). In the time period, "Crisis" finished #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and all other key demos (including a tie in men 18-34). L+7 Time-Shifting: "Crisis" originals this season are increasing by an average of +61% in 18-49 rating from their L+SD results to L+7 (to a 1.77 from a 1.10) and growing by 2.2 million persons in total viewers (6.7 million vs. 4.5 million).
