Live + 7 Day Ratings: ABC's "The Goldbergs" Emerges as the Week's # 1 Freshman Sitcom / "Nashville" Doubles its L+SD Rating for the 2nd Time This Season

ABC claimed 4 of the week's Top 10 gainers in TV playback among Adults 18-49 (the most for any network): Modern Family (+2.0 rating points) - #2, Grey's Anatomy (+1.8 rating points) - #4, with Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (+1.2 rating points) and Nashville (+1.2 rating points) tied at #6. ABC had 3 of the Top 5 biggest overall gainers of the week, with Modern Family (+4.23 million) - #3, Castle (+3.95 million) - #4 and Grey's Anatomy (+3.94 million) - #5.
ABC's Nashville matched its biggest-ever percentage lift among Adults 18-49, growing +100% over its Live+SD number for the 2nd time this season (to finish with a 2.4 rating), and ranked as the week's biggest broadcast gainer with young adults.
In the final Live + 7 Day ratings, ABC's Once Upon a Time (3.2 rating) and Resurrection finale (3.1) emerged as Sunday's #1 and #2 broadcast series in Adults 18-49, respectively. The Goldbergs (2.6) solidified its rank as Tuesday's #1 comedy among Adults 18-49, increasing its lead over NBC's About a Boy to 24% (2.1) in the L+7 ratings (versus +6% in the L+SD data). In fact, the new ABC sitcom was the week's #1 freshman sitcom with young adults, leapfrogging over CBS' The Millers (2.5). In the first reported L+SD numbers, The Goldbergs ran 3-tenths of a rating point behind The Millers.
In Live + 7 numbers, Shark Tank delivered its most-watched telecast ever with 9.9 million viewers and DWTS drew its biggest audience this season with 17.1 million viewers.

Based on TV playback data for the 2013-14 season, ABC claims 5 of the Top 10 playback gainers among Adults 18-49 on the broadcast networks (the most of any net): Modern Family (+2.1 rating points) - #2, Grey's Anatomy (+1.8 rating points) - #4, Scandal (+1.6 rating points) - #5, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (+1.5 rating points) - #7 and Resurrection (+1.3 rating points) - #9. ABC owns 4 of the 10 biggest overall gainers on the broadcast networks (tied with CBS): Modern Family (+4.427 million) - #5, Castle (+4.365 million) - #6, Grey's (+3.925 million) - #7 and Scandal (+3.919 million) - #8.
Nearly all of ABC's returning series are seeing bigger percentage gains among Adults 18-49 from L+SD to L+7 this year than last: The Bachelor (+24% vs. +22%), Castle (+63% vs. +50%), Dancing with the Stars (+14% vs. +13%), Grey's Anatomy (+67% vs. +52%), Last Man Standing (+46% vs. +33%), Modern Family (+60% vs. +53%), Nashville (+73% vs. +58%), Once Upon a Time (+55% vs. +44%), Revenge (+63% vs. +50%), Scandal (+53% vs. +42%) and Shark Tank (+30% vs. +21%).
· Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is Tuesday's #1 scripted show this season with Adults 18-49 based on original telecasts, beating CBS' NCIS (4.0 rating vs. 3.9 rating). Based on first-run telecasts in the L+7 Adult 18-49 ratings, ABC claims the season's #1 scripted show on Tuesday (S.H.I.E.L.D. - 4.0), #1 show on Wednesday (Modern Family - 5.6), #1 drama on Thursday (Scandal - 4.6), #1 show on Friday (Shark Tank - 2.6) and #1 broadcast series on Sunday (Resurrection - 3.8). Further, based on originals in the L+7 ratings, ABC owns the Top 2 dramas on Thursday with Scandal (4.6) and Grey's (4.5) and the Top 2 broadcast series on Sunday with Resurrection (3.8) and Once Upon a Time (3.4) among Adults 18-49
