Los Angeles - OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network scored its most-watched quarter in network history averaging 508,000 total viewers and delivering double-digit growth across all demos versus the previous quarter (+32% W25-54, +48% total viewers and +47% African-American W25-54), making OWN the fastest growing cable network for W25-54. Additionally, Q1 marked the network's highest quarterly rank in W25-54 at #24 among all ad-supported cable networks and #4 for African-American W25-54.
OWN was the #1 cable network on Tuesday and Wednesday nights for African-American women in Q1 2014. And was Tuesday night's #2 cable network among all women. "The Haves and the Have Nots," the hit drama series, boasted five episodes that attracted over three million total viewers in Q1 (the March 11 season finale was the most-watched telecast in OWN history with 3.6 million viewers) and ranked as a Top 10 show for W25-54 (#7). It is also the #1 original series on all of TV for African-American women on Tuesday nights. On Wednesday nights, "Love Thy Neighbor" was the #1 original cable series for African-American women, W25-54 and total viewers. OWN was also Saturday night's #2 network on all of TV for African-American W25-54 and its W25-54 prime average (.42 rating) grew +75% versus one year ago. The network's popular Saturday night lineup garnered solid numbers with "Raising Whitley" hitting a season high with a .72 rating in W25-54 for its season finale on March 8, up +300% versus the year-ago time period and was Saturday night's #1 telecast for African-American W25-54. "Welcome to Sweetie Pie's" continues to see ratings gains with a .88 rating W25-54 and 919,000 tuning in for the episode on March 29, the second-highest rating in series history and #1 in the time period on all of TV for African-American W25-54. In addition, new series "Deion's Family Playbook" saw a .84 rating W25-54 and 946,000 for its March 29 episode, its strongest performance across all key demos and #1 in the time period on all of TV for African-American W25-54.
On Sunday, the debut of Lindsay Lohan's documentary series "Lindsay" on March 9 delivered 693,184 viewers with a .56 rating in W25-54, .52 W18-49 and a .53 W18-34, posting triple-digit gains across key demos versus the prior six-week time period average (+178% in total viewers; +300% W25-54; +478% W18-49; +1225% W18-34).
