Thursday Primetime Results:
· "Parenthood" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 4.0 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m.) tied for #1 in adults 18-49 at 10 p.m. among ABC, CBS and NBC in 18-49, and is #1 outright among those networks in all key adult-women demos - women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. In total viewers, last night's 3.968 million is currently the second-best "Parenthood" since Oct. 17, trailing over that span only last week's 4.256 million.
· L+3 Time-Shifting: The previous week's "Parenthood" added 75% or 0.97 of a point (a series record) to its next-day L+SD 18-49 rating in L+3 results (to a 2.24 in L+3 from a 1.28 in L+SD) and 2.083 million viewers overall (6.339 million vs. 4.256 million).
· "Community" (1.1/4 in adults 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall from 8-8:30 p.m. ET) is matching last season's third telecast in adults 18-49 (1.1 vs. 1.1 on Feb. 21, 2013) and is up 3% in total viewers (3.165 million vs. 3.076 million), despite competition last night from Fox's Thursday season premiere of "American Idol." L+3 Time-Shifting: The previous week's "Community" added 29% or 0.40 of a point to its next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 rating in "live plus three day" results (to a 1.77 in L+3 from a 1.37in L+SD) and 658,000 viewers overall (4.237 million vs. 3.579 million).
· Last night's "Community" is running within 15% of its season premiere two weeks ago (1.1 vs. 1.3 on Jan. 2), a significant improvement versus last season, when the third "Community" had declined by 42% versus the season premiere (1.1 on Feb. 21, 2013 vs. a 1.9 on Feb. 7).
· "Parks and Recreation" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall from 8:30-9:01 p.m. ET) built on its "Community" lead-in by 9% in adults 18-49. In the time period, "Parks" is #2 among the Big 4 nets in adults 18-34 and men 18-34. L+3 Time-Shifting: The prior week's "Parks and Recreation" grew by 35% or 0.51 of a point going from its next-day L+SD 18-49 rating to its L+3 result (to a 1.98 in L+3 from a 1.47 in L+SD) and 899,000 viewers overall (4.324 million vs. 3.425 million).
· On the night of Fox's "American Idol" Thursday debut, "Sean Saves the World" averaged a 0.8/2 in 18-49 and 2.7 million viewers overall at 9:01 and "The Michael J. Fox Show" earned a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 2.0 million viewers overall at 9:30. L+3 Time-Shifting: The previous week's "Sean Saves the World" added 23% or 0.23 of a point to its next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 rating (to a 1.22 in L+3 from a 0.99 in L+SD) and 492,000 viewers overall (3.613 million vs. 3.121 million). And the prior week's "Michael J. Fox" added 30% or 0.29 of a point to its next-day L+SD 18-49 rating in L+3 results (to a 1.25 in L+3 from a 0.96 in L+SD) and 726,000 viewers overall (3.837 million vs. 3.111 million).
In Late-Night Metered Markets Thursday night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.6/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.3/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.9/5.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.6/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/3.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.5/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
