Friday Primetime Results:
· "Dateline NBC" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 7.9 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) reported its highest Friday adult 18-49 rating in the past year, since also delivering a 1.5 on Jan. 4, 2013. Last night's "Dateline NBC" tied for the #1 non-sports rating of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49 with ABC's 10-11 p.m. "20/20."
· In total viewers, it was the top Friday "Dateline" in more than two and a half years (since March 25, 2011, 8.150 million). "Dateline" is currently the #1 Big 4 show of the night in total viewers with 7.854 million.
· In adults 25-54, "Dateline" (2.2 rating) scored the top Big 4 rating of the night, excluding sports, while achieving the show's top Friday rating in 25-54 since Dec. 28, 2012.
· "Grimm" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 5.6 million viewers overall at 9 p.m. ET) jumped 17% versus its prior original in 18-49 (1.2/4 on Dec. 13), an episode that was heavily time-shifted, growing by +118% going from L+SD to L+7 (see details below). Last night's telecast was also up by 15% in total viewers versus the prior "Grimm" original three weeks ago (5.597 million vs. 4.884 million).
· "Grimm" tied for the #3 non-sports rating of the night on the Big 4 in 18-49 (matching ABC's "Shark Tank" encore), behind only "Dateline NBC" and "20/20." In the time period, "Grimm" tied for the #1 non-sports rating on those networks with "Shark Tank" and was #1 outright on the Big 4 in women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.
· L+7 Time-Shifting: Note that the prior "Grimm" telecast grew by +118% going from these next-day "live plus same day" results to "live plus seven day" (to a 2.57 from a 1.18 on Dec. 13). The most recent "Dracula" grew by 68% (to a 1.91 from a 1.14 on Dec. 6).
· With its first telecast in four weeks, "Dracula" averaged a 0.9/3 in 18-49 and 3.0 million viewers overall at 10 p.m. ET, matching its 18-49 rating from three of the show's prior four telecasts.
· L+7 Time-Shifting: Note that the previous "Dracula" grew by +68% going from these next-day "live plus same day" results to "live plus seven day" (to a 1.91 from a 1.14 on Dec. 6).
In Late-Night Metered Markets Friday night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.0/4 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.3/5 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.0/4 with an encore.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.6/2 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.6/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/2 with an encore.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/3 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.3/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.4/2 with an encore).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.4/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
