UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - Dec. 17, 2013 - NBC has won the primetime ratings week of Dec. 9-15, with "Sunday Night Football" and the Monday and Tuesday editions of "The Voice" accounting for three of the top eight shows of the week in adults 18-49 on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox. According to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research for the week, NBC averaged a 2.2 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49 and 7.5 million viewers overall.

NBC has now finished #1 or tied for #1 seven weeks in a row and during 11 of 12 weeks so far this season, finishing #2 only once during a week in which Fox carried World Series coverage on four of seven nights. In addition to winning last week in adults 18-49, NBC also led the Big 4 networks in women 18-34, women 18-49 and adults 25-54 (tie).

NBC's top primetime series of the week included "Sunday Night Football" (#1 among Big 4 programs in adults 18-49), the Monday edition of "The Voice" (tied for #3), Tuesday's "Voice" (#8), Monday's debut of "The Sing-Off" (tied for #15), "Chicago Fire" (tied for #20) and "The Biggest Loser" (tied for #26). Rankings exclude sports pre- and post-game shows.

"Sunday Night Football" ranked #1 among primetime programs on the Big 4 in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, all key adult-male demos and teens 12-17.

Through 12 weeks of the new season, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and is also #1 in every other key demo - adults, men and women 18-34; men and women 18-49; and adults, men and women 25-54, including a tie with CBS in women 25-54.

NBC leads the season by 0.5 of a rating point (with a 3.2 vs. second-place CBS's 2.7), the biggest margin for any network 12 weeks into the season in 11 years (since NBC led by 0.8 of a point in 2002).

In total viewers, NBC ranks #2 for the season with an average of 9.9 million viewers, which is its biggest overall audience 12 weeks into the season in seven years (since 2006, 10.3 million). Versus one year ago, NBC is up 12% season to date in total viewers (9.9 million vs. 8.8 million).

Primetime averages for the week of Dec. 9-15 in adults 18-49 are: NBC, 2.2/6; Fox, 2.0/6; CBS, 2.0/6; ABC, 1.5/4; and CW, 0.5/1. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 9.3 million; NBC, 7.5 million; Fox, 6.1 million; ABC, 5.6 million; and CW, 1.3 million.

Season-to-date averages are: NBC, 3.2/9; CBS, 2.7/8; Fox, 2.5/7; ABC, 2.4/7; and CW, 0.9/3. In overall total viewers, the season averages are: CBS, 11.7 million; NBC, 9.9 million; ABC, 8.5 million; Fox, 7.3 million; and CW, 2.1 million.

NBC highlights for the week of Dec. 9-15:

Monday: NBC won the night among the Big 4, winning six of six primetime half-hours in 18-49 with the #1 and #2 shows of the night, "The Voice" and "The Sing-Off."

"The Voice" (3.5 rating, 10 share in adults 18-49, 13.2 million viewers overall from 8-9:02 p.m. ET) earned its highest 18-49 rating in three weeks, growing by 3% versus the show's 3.4 of the prior two weeks and by 6% versus the comparable episode of the prior cycle (3.3 on June 10). In total viewers, "The Voice" jumped to its top result since Oct. 28 (13.2 million), and has now grown versus the prior Monday in total viewers for three weeks in a row. "The Voice" led all Big 4 competition in the time period in every key ratings measure and won the slot in adults 18-49 among those nets by a 94% margin (3.5 vs. 1.8 for Fox's second-place "Almost Human").

The fourth season debut of "The Sing-Off" (2.4/6 in adults 18-49, 8.4 million viewers overall from 9:02-11 p.m. ET) grew 26% versus its prior debut in 18-49 (2.4 vs. 1.9 from 8-10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, 2011) and was up 58% in total viewers (8.4 million vs. 5.3 million). The Dec. 9 "Sing-Off" ranked #1 in the two-hour time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures.

These are the top 18-49 and total-viewer results for "The Sing-Off" since the finale of the second season (2.7/7 in 18-49, 8.612 million on Dec. 20, 2010). "The Sing-Off" topped every telecast of its first season (2009) and third season (2010) in 18-49 and total viewers.

Tuesday: "The Biggest Loser" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 6.2 viewers overall from 8-9 p.m.) won its the hour among the Big 4 in women 18-34 (with a 1.9 rating) and tied for #1 in women 18-34 (1.4).

"The Voice" (3.1/8 in 18-49, 11.5 million viewers overall from 9-10:01 p.m. ET)) won its time period among the Big 4 in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and other key demos. Versus the comparable telecast in the prior cycle, "The Voice" was up 7% in 18-49 rating (to a 3.1 from a 2.9 on June 11) and up 8% in total viewers (11.5 million vs. 10.7 million).

"Chicago Fire" (2.2/6 in 18-49, 9.3 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) set a series record in total viewers, topping the previous high of 8.9 million set with the show's second season premiere on Sept. 24. Week to week, "Chicago Fire" grew 13% or more than a million persons in total viewers (to 9.3 million from 8.2 million). In 18-49, "Chicago Fire" ran within a tenth of a rating point of the prior week's 2.3, despite special competition this week from CBS's "Victoria's Secret" special, and matched the second highest "Chicago Fire" rating since Oct. 15. "Chicago Fire" was up 57% versus the same week last year (when "Chicago Fire" was running Wednesday's at 10 p.m.) in adults 18-49 (2.2 vs. 1.4 on Dec. 12, 2012). L+3 Time-Shifting: The Dec. 3 "Chicago Fire" grew by 36% or 0.82 of a rating point going from its L+SD rating to L+3 (2.29 to 3.11).

Wednesday: Night two of "The Sing-Off" (1.8/5 in 18-49, 6.0 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) grew 6% versus the second telecast of its prior cycle (1.7 on Sept. 26, 2011) and was up in total viewers by 35% (6.0 million vs. vs. 4.5 million). Excluding the prior week's "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" and "SNL Christmas," this was NBC's top 18-49 rating in the time period since Oct. 2 -- and matched NBC's highest rating in the slot, excluding the prior week, since Sept. 25 during premiere week. In total viewers, the 6.0 million is NBC's second biggest overall audience in the time period since Oct. 16, trailing over that span only the prior week's specials. "The Sing-Off" ranked #1 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in women 18-34 (with a 2.2 rating) and tied for #1 among those nets in adults 18-34 (1.6).

"Kelly Clarkson's Cautionary Christmas Music Tale" (1.4/4 in adults 18-49, 5.3 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) tied for #2 in the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54; was #2 outright among those nets in total viewers and adults 18-34; tied for #1 in women 18-34 (with a 1.4 rating); and finished #1 outright among those nets in teens 12-17 (0.9).

"Kelly Clarkson's Cautionary Christmas Music Tale" generated NBC's second biggest overall audience in the time period (5.3 million) since Oct. 2, trailing over that span only the previous week's "SNL Christmas" special (6.3 million in the hour). Excluding the "SNL" specials of the last two weeks, "Kelly Clarkson's Cautionary Christmas Music Tale" captured NBC's highest adult 18-49 rating in the time period since premiere week, Sept. 25.

Thursday: Night three of "The Sing-Off" (1.3/4 in adults 18-49, 4.6 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) ranked #2 in 18-49 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in the highly competitive time period, out-rating Fox's "The X Factor" for a second straight night. "The Sing-Off" also ranked #2 in the hour among those networks in men and women 18-49, adults, men and women 18-34 and men 25-54.

Despite a three-week break, "Sean Saves the World" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 3.4 million viewers overall from 9-9:30 p.m. ET) returned with its top 18-49 and total-viewer results since Nov. 7, up 11% versus its prior telecast on Nov. 21 in 18-49 (1.0 vs. 0.9) and up 14% in total viewers (3.4 million vs. 3.0 million). L+7 Time-Shifting: The Nov. 21 "Sean Saves the World" grew by 36% or 0.31 of a rating point going from its L+SD rating to L+7 (0.87 to 1.18).

With its first telecast in three weeks, "The Michael J. Fox Show" (0.9/2 in 18-49, 3.0 million viewers from 9:30-10 p.m. ET) matched its prior rating on Nov. 21 and was up 4% in total viewers (3.0 million vs. 2.9 million). L+7 Time-Shifting: The Nov. 21 "Michael J. Fox Show" grew by 41% or 0.35 of a rating point going from its L+SD rating to L+7 (0.86 to 1.21).

With its first telecast in three weeks, "Parenthood" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m.) matched its prior rating on Nov. 21 and was up 8% in total viewers (3.934 million vs. 3.653 million) to the top "Parenthood" since Oct. 24. Despite the 10 p.m. hour, "Parenthood" grew half-hour to half-hour by 8% in 18-49 rating (to a 1.3 from a 1.2) and held steady or grew in every other key ratings measure. L+7 Time-Shifting: The Nov. 21 "Parenthood" grew by 82% or 0.98 of a rating point going from its L+SD rating to L+7 (1.20 to 2.18).

Friday: "Dateline NBC" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 6.2 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) ranked #2 in the slot among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers. "Dateline" grew from half-hour to half-hour in every key measure, with gains of +9% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.2 rating from a 1.1), +29% in adults 18-34 (0.9 vs. 0.7), +20% in adults 25-54 (1.8 vs. 1.5) and 17% in total viewers (6.7 million vs. 5.7 million).

"Grimm" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) ranked #2 in the two-hour time period among the Big 4 in adults, men and women 18-34. "Grimm" tied as the #1 scripted show of the night on the Big 4 in adults 18-49.

L+3 Time-Shifting: The prior week's "Grimm" earned the show's biggest time-shifting lift ever going from L+SD results to L+3, growing by 1.15 rating points from a 1.58 to a 2.73. In L+3 rating, "Grimm" ranked as the #1 show that night on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox. On a percentage basis, it was a gain of 73% in 18-49 rating in three days. In total viewers, the Dec. 6 "Grimm" set a series record for biggest L+3 overall audience, growing to 9.0 million viewers, which tops the 8.8 in L+3 for the show's season premiere Oct. 25. That Dec. 6 telecast delivered 6.323 million viewers in "live plus same day" and then grew by 2.685 million or 42% in L+3.

Saturday: A rebroadcast of "The Sound of Music Live!" averaged a 0.7/2 in 18-49 and 3.1 million viewers overall from 8-11 p.m. ET, for NBC's highest-rated Saturday in 18-49 since Nov. 16 and top Saturday in total viewers since Nov. 9. From its first half-hour to its sixth, the "Sound of Music Live!" rebroadcast grew by 0.2 of a point or 40% in adults 18-49 (to a 0.7 from a 0.5), by 50% in adults 25-54 (0.9 vs. 0.6) and 41% in total viewers (3.4 million vs. 2.4 million).

Sunday: "Sunday Night Football" (5.6/15 in 18-49, 16.4 million viewers overall from 8:31-11:23 p.m. ET), featuring the Cincinnati Bengals at the Pittsburgh Steelers, ranked #1 for the night on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key measures (excluding NFL overruns and pre- and post-game shows).
