Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Tops Viewers, Demos for Second Straight Week

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (11/20/13):

CBS (11.138 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1) was the top draw on Wednesday thanks to new episodes of "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" (10.096 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.4, #3), "Criminal Minds" (12.286 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.8, #2) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (11.033 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.1, #5).

ABC (6.902 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.0, #2) then claimed the silver with its mix of "The Middle" (8.381 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.2, #4), "Back in the Game" (6.078 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T8), "Modern Family" (10.033 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 3.3, #1), "Super Fun Night" (5.672 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.9, #6) and "Nashville" (5.623 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T8).

Next up was FOX (5.501 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #3) with fresh installments of "The X Factor" (5.459 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T8) and another "The X Factor" (5.544 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.7, #7).

Meanwhile, NBC (5.312 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4) served up originals from "Revolution" (5.247 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.4, #12), "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (5.919 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T8) and "Dateline NBC" (4.770 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.1, #13).

And finally, new episodes of "Arrow" (2.534 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.9, #14) and "The Tomorrow People" (1.661 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.6, #15) on The CW (2.097 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #5) closed out the night. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Arrow" delivered a 0.9 rating while "Tomorrow" posted a 0.5 rating.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.9/5; "Late Show," 0.7/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/4.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/5 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.6/6 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.4/3).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (11/21/12):

CBS (10.50 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.5, #1) was the network to beat on the final night of the November sweeps period thanks to new episodes of "Survivor: Philippines" (9.36 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.3, #T2), "Criminal Minds" (11.47 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.7, #1) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (10.67 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.3, #T2).

FOX (7.18 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.2, #2) then claimed the silver with a new "The X Factor" (6.96 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.1, #6) and a second installment of "The X Factor" (7.39 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.3, #T2).

Next up was ABC (5.54 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #3) with repeats of "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" (8.09 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.2, #5), "Modern Family" (5.83 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.7, #7) and "Suburgatory" (3.83 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T10) plus a special new "Private Practice" (3.68 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.0, #13).

Meanwhile, NBC (4.78 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4) offered up originals from "Whitney" (3.94 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T10), "Guys With Kids" (3.50 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T10), "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (5.19 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.3, #9) and "Chicago Fire" (5.43 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.4, #8).

And finally, the feature "Planes, Trains & Automobiles" (1.72 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.5, #14) on The CW (1.72 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5) closed out the night. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), the film posted a 0.4 rating.
