TNT's Exclusive New York Knicks vs. Chicago Bulls Telecast Averages 2.6 Million Total Viewers
Network's NBA Thursday Night Doubleheader Up 14%
TNT's exclusive NBA telecast featuring the New York Knicks and Carmelo Anthony against the Chicago Bulls and Derrick Rose - Thursday, Oct. 31, at 8 p.m. ET - continued the network's strong opening week performance, netting an average of 2.6 million total viewers and a 1.6 U.S. HH rating. The telecast peaked with an average of 3.9 million total viewers and a 2.5 U.S. HH rating from 10:45-11 p.m. Locally the Knicks/Bulls game earned a 9.3 metered market rating in Chicago and a 5.6 rating in New York.
Overall, TNT's doubleheader - which also including the Golden State Warriors vs. Los Angeles Clippers at 10:30 p.m. - averaged a 1.6 U.S. HH rating and 2.4 million total viewers, both up 14% over a 1.4 U.S. HH rating and 2.1 million total viewers for the network's first Thursday night last season. TNT was the most discussed network (broadcast/cable) Thursday night across social platforms, according to SocialGuide.
TNT's Warriors/Clippers telecast averaged a 1.4 U.S. HH rating and 2.2 million total viewers. The telecast peaked with a 1.9 U.S. HH rating and 3.0 million total viewers from 11-11:15 p.m. The game generated a 4.6 metered market rating in San Francisco and a 4.4 local rating in Los Angeles.
Earlier in the week, TNT's exclusive telecast featuring the Miami Heat against the Bulls on Tuesday, Oct. 29, averaged a 3.3 U.S. HH rating and 5.4 million total viewers to become the second highest-rated and second most-viewed opening night game in the network's history.
NBA on TNT coverage will continue Thursday, Nov. 7, with an exclusive doubleheader - the Clippers visiting the Heat at 7 p.m. and the Houston Rockets and Dwight Howard hosting his former L.A. Lakers team at 9:30 p.m. Kevin Harlan will call the Clippers/Heat game with analysts Reggie Miller and Greg Anthony and reporter Rachel Nichols. Marv Albert will provide play-by-play for Lakers/Rockets with analyst Steve Kerr and reporter Craig Sager.
