TV LAND'S "THE EXES" SOARS TO HIGHEST RATED SEASON EVER
DOUBLE-DIGIT GROWTH AMONG ALL KEY DEMOS
New York, NY - September 3, 2013 - TV Land's original sitcom "The Exes" scored its highest rated season ever among Adults 25-54 and Women 25-54 and saw double-digit increases versus the prior season with Adults 25-54 (+21%), Women 25-54 (+13%) and total viewers (+20%), it was announced today by Larry W. Jones, President, TV Land (Source: Nielsen, Most Current: L+7 6/19/13-8/14/13; L+3 8/21/13-8/28/13). In addition, "The Exes" finale episode, which aired on August 28th, saw season high Live+3 ratings with Adults 25-54 and Women 25-54.
"TV audiences are depending more and more on DVRs to watch their favorite shows, so playback has become the true measure of popularity," says Jones. "It's clear with these DVR numbers that 'The Exes' is on the rise. This is a show we adored from the very beginning. The cast is tremendous and the writing is smart and funny. Bring on the next season!"
Based on Most Current data from Nielsen, "The Exes" season three averaged over 1.4 million total viewers, rising +20% from season two. The season also averaged a .7 with Adults 25-54 and a .9 with Women 25-54, increases of +21% and +13% versus season two, respectively (Source: Nielsen, Most Current: L+7 6/19/13-8/14/13; L+3 8/21/13-8/28/13). The season finale episode of "The Exes," with the inclusion of three-day playback, garnered a .8 among Adults 25-54, the best Live+3 rating since season one, and the best Live+3 number ever for Women 25-54 with a 1.0 rating.
Recently picked up for another ten episodes, "The Exes" revolves around the unlikely trio of Phil (Donald Faison), Haskell (Wayne Knight) and Stuart (David Alan Basche), three roommates and divorcés who have finally found bromance after initially being forced to live together by their divorce attorney and landlord, Holly (Kristen Johnston). In last week's season finale, Phil and Eden, Holly's assistant (played by Kelly Stables), realized that they're more interested in dating than remaining "friends with benefits," while the rest of the gang was surprised to find out that anything was going on between them at all!
