Monday Results:
· From 8-10 p.m. ET, the NBC season premiere of "American Ninja Warrior" (1.7 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49, 4.9 million viewers overall) grew dramatically through its time period, generating this half-hour track: 1.3, 1.6, 1.8, 2.0. "Ninja" grew by 54% from its first half-hour to its fourth in 18-49 (to a 2.0 from a 1.3) and by 23% or 1 million persons in total viewers (5.4 million vs. 4.4 million). In the time period, "Ninja" ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49 and total viewers and finished #1 among those networks in all key adult-male demos.
· For its second hour, "Ninja" is #1 in 18-49 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox (with a 1.9 rating for that hour), as well as all key adult-male demos. For the full time period, "Ninja" was #2 in 18-49 (within a tenth of a point of #1) and total viewers among those nets and #1 in all key adult-male demos.
· Keep in mind that last year's "American Ninja Warrior" premiere benefited from a 3.2 lead-in from "America's Got Talent." Despite that advantage for the year-ago debut, this year's "Ninja" premiere finished within 0.7 of a point of that year-ago debut (1.7 vs. 2.4). Last year's premiere also benefitted from a higher-viewership date, May 21, and a higher-viewership time period, 9-11 p.m. Last year's fourth half-hour did a 2.2 and this year's fourth half-hour did a 2.0.
· From 10:01-11 p.m. ET, the debut of "Siberia" (1.1/3 in adults 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall) ranked #2 or tied for #2 in the slot among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demos versus original drama competition on ABC and CBS.
· "Siberia" maintained 92% of its 18-49 rating from its first half-hour to its second (to a 1.1 from a 1.2) despite airing in the 10 p.m. ET hour, and maintained 100% in adults 25-54 (1.4 for both half-hours).
In Late-Night Metered Markets Monday night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.2/6 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.3/6 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.2/6.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.5/3 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.8/4.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/4 in metered-market households and a 0.5/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.0/4 in metered-market households with an encore) trailed CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.1/4 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2 with an encore).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
