Second-Season Premiere of the Hit Drama "Major Crimes" Tops the Charts as the Week's #1 Program on Basic Cable

TNT's Monday night lineup got off to an outstanding start last week, with the second-season premiere of the hit drama Major Crimes topping the charts as the week's #1 program on basic cable. The show has already grown its audience to more than 6.5 million viewers in Live + 3, while its demo deliveries have risen to 2.1 million adults 25-54 and 1.7 million adults 18-49.

In addition to its victory among total viewers, Major Crimes joined Sunday night's episode of Falling Skies in giving TNT two of basic cable's Top 3 scripted programs for the week with adults 25-54. The shows also accounted for two of basic cable's Top 6 dramas for the week among adults 18-49.

Last Monday, TNT also debuted its brand new series King & Maxwell. The private-eye drama, starring Jon Tenney and Rebecca Romijn, has already expanded its premiere audience to 4.9 million viewers in Live + 3, including 1.5 million adults 25-54 and 1.2 million adults 18-49.

The June 9 season premiere of TNT's epic drama series Falling Skies has grown its audience to 5.7 million viewers in Live + 3 viewing, with 3 million adults 25-54 and more than 2.7 million adults 18-49. Meanwhile, this past Sunday's installment of the sci-fi drama has garnered 2.8 million viewers in Live + Same Day, including 1.5 million adults 25-54 and 1.2 million adults 18-49.

So far this summer, TNT's primetime delivery of adults 18-49 has grown by +3% in Live + Same Day, driven in part by a +13% boost among adults 18-34.

On the sports front, TNT's coverage of NASCAR Spring Cup Racing from Michigan on Sunday ranked as basic cable's #1 sports program for the week, with more than 4.5 million viewers and 2 million adults 25-54.

Adult Swim

Adult Swim's total day ranked #1 among adults 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 and men 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 on basic cable this week. Compared to the same week in 2012, Total Day delivery grew among adults 18-24 by 6%, adults 18-34 by 6%, and adults 18-49 by 1%.

In primetime (Broadcast definition), Adult Swim ranked #1 among all basic cable networks for delivery of adults 18-34. Compared to the same week in 2012, Primetime delivery grew across the board - adults 18-24 by 23%, adults 18-34 by 22%, adults 18-49 by 13%, men 18-24 by 15%, men 18-34 by 13% and men 18-49 by 5%.

NTSF:SD:SUV:: (Thursday, 12 a.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among all adults 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 and men 18-24 & 18-34, while earning gains among all targeted adults and men 18-34 & 18-49 vs. the same time period last year.

A new episode of The Venture Brothers (Sunday, 12 a.m.) ranked #1 in its timeslot with all targeted adults and men, increasing delivery by double-digits across the board - ranging between 29% and 92% - vs. the same time period last year.

Saturday night's new episodes of Bleach (12 a.m.), and One Piece (1 a.m.) each ranked #1 in their respective timeslots with all targeted adults and young men, while Naruto (12:30 a.m.) and Soul Eater (1:30 a.m.) ranked #1 in their respective time periods among adults 18-24 & 18-34 and all targeted male demos.

Adult Swim programming accounted for 33 of the top 50 telecasts on basic cable for the week - more than any other network - among adults 18-34.

TBS

TBS's hit sitcom Sullivan & Son kicked off its second season Thursday night with 2.4 million viewers in Live + 3, including 1.3 million adults 18-49 and 580,000 adults 18-34. The show ranked as one of basic cable's Top 10 scripted originals with adults 18-49 for the week.

With Sullivan & Son and episodes of The Big Bang Theory, TBS claimed 18 of basic cable's Top 20 sitcom telecasts for the week among viewers. TBS also scored 19 of the Top 20 among adults 18-49 and 16 of the top 20 among adults 18-34.

TBS's hidden-camera comedy Who Gets the Last Laugh? closed out its first season Tuesday night with 1.4 million viewers in Live + 3, including 771,000 adults 18-49 and 346,000 adults 18-34.

Cartoon Network

Across the third week of June 2013, Cartoon Network ranked as television's #1 network for Early Prime (7-9 p.m.) delivery of boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14, and #1 in Total Day delivery of boys 6-11 & 9-14.

Cartoon Network was the #1 television network among all boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14 on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday night, #1 among boys 6-11 & 9-14 on Monday night, and #1 among boys 9-14 on Tuesday & Friday Night (7-9p).

A new episode of the original animated series Regular Show (Monday, 8 p.m.) was the #1 telecast of the week among boys 9-14, #1 for the day among boys 6-11 & 9-14 and #1 in its time period among kids 9-14 and all key boys. Similarly, a new episode of the original animated series Adventure Time (Monday, 7:30 p.m.) ranked #1 in its timeslot with kids 9-14 and all boy demos.

A new episode of the award-winning The Amazing World of Gumball (Wednesday, 7:30 p.m.) scored as the #1 telecast of the day among boys 2-11 & 6-11, and #1 in its time period among kids 2-11 & 6-11 and all boy demos.

Cartoon Network's newest original series Teen Titans GO! (Tuesday, 7:30 p.m.) presented a new episode that ranked as the #1 telecast of the day among boys 9-14, and #1 in its time period among all boy demos.

New episode premieres of Pokemon BW: Adventures in Unova (Saturday, 8:30a) and Beyblade: Metal Fury (Saturday, 8 a.m.) ranked #1 in their respective time periods among boys 9-14.

truTV

truTV's hit series Hardcore Pawn served up 1.7 million viewers Tuesday night at 9 p.m. and ranked as one of ad-supported cable's Top 5 entertainment programs in the timeslot with men 18-49 (386,000). It also fueled truTV to a Top 10 ad-supported cable ranking for the night among men 18-49 and men 18-34. For the season, Hardcore Pawn is averaging 2.6 million viewers in Live + 7, with 1.3 million adults 18-49 and 676,000 men 18-49.

truTV's Thursday primetime lineup, featuring new episodes of Top 20 Funniest and World's Dumbest..., propelled the network to a Top 5 finish among ad-supported networks for the night with men 18-49 and Top 10 rankings with key adult demos and men 18-34. In their individual timeslots, Top 20 Funniest ranked as one of ad-supported cable's Top 5 programs in the 9 p.m. hour with men 18-49, while World's Dumbest earned a Top 5 time-period ranking among men 18-34.

NBA TV

NBA TV's premiere of The Doctor, a documentary on the iconic Julius "Dr. J" Erving, on Monday, June 10, delivered 631,000 total viewers to become the second most-watched original program ever on the network. Additionally, the network's NBA GameTime pre- and post-game coverage of The Finals is averaging 179,000 total viewers through five games, up 23% compared with The Finals through Game 5 last year.
