"48 HOURS: OVER THE EDGE" IS SATURDAY'S #1 PROGRAM IN VIEWERS AND HOUSEHOLDS
"48 HOURS" AT 10:00 PM IS FIRST IN ADULTS 25-54 - THE DEMOGRAPHIC MOST DESIRED BY THOSE WHO ADVERTISE IN NEWS - AS WELL AS VIEWERS, ADULTS 18-49 AND HOUSEHOLDS
48 HOURS: "Over the Edge" was Saturday's #1 program in both viewers and households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for May 4, 2013. In the 10:00 PM hour, 48 HOURS was first in adults 25-54 (1.5/04) - the demographic desired most by those who advertise in news - as well as viewers (5.71m), adults 18-49 (1.1/04) and households (3.9/07).
Saturday's broadcast featured a 48 HOURS investigation into the disappearance of Dawn Viens, the wife of a celebrated top chef, David Viens. As Richard Schlesinger reported in "Over the Edge," a year after Dawn vanished, the police investigation closed in on David Viens as a suspect. He then attempted suicide by jumping off a cliff. He survived the leap and the story he told police about what he did to his wife after accidentally killing her shocked even seasoned detectives.
